The Five Big Goals You Need To Start Right Now

@pernillete

I don’t know about you, but I’ve promised myself that 2018 is going to be all about opportunities. I’m planning to seize every single one that comes my way and to make sure that life certainly doesn’t pass me by. I’m planning to live more in the moment and pursue my dreams no matter the cost. Because if there was one thing 2017 taught me is that life goes by too quick to not take advantage of its riches! So, will you join me? Because here are the five things you should do to make 2018 your year:

1. Climb every mountain

There is no room for excuses in 2018, if you want to make things happen, then make it happen. If you have set yourself realistic goals with a bulletproof plan to help you live out your dreams then nothing should be able to get in the way. But let me remind you that the road to success is never an easy one!

Every successful person has earned their right to success, they braved the journey, they climbed every mountain. They didn’t give up and you shouldn’t either. So no more excuses, another year has gone by don’t let another one be lost either. You can do it!

2. Create and maintain a balance

Finding a balance is something we all strive to do. And it can be especially hard when go-getters like ourselves will do anything to grow our careers. But, if there’s one thing I’ve learned in the last year is that you can have both with a little bit of effort. You don’t have to feel like a guilty mom when you’re out having fun and not working.

Just because you’re ambitious, doesn’t mean you can’t let your hair down every once in a while. You can create a balance by making sure your week is scheduled, that’s everything from work to face masks. Structure your time and create routines and that way you will be creating a balance between work and social life.

3. Improve yourself always

I’ve always wanted to push my limits and know everything I possibly can. I’ve always wanted to be the best of the best and that doesn’t just come naturally. In order to grow in our careers we’ve always got to keep improving ourselves, or to put it another way; grow. Because growth is essential not in your work life but in your daily life too.

Self-reflection on a regular basis will not only help you become a well-rounded person but more understandable, confident and a boss! By sitting yourself down at least once a week and reflecting will show you where you need to improve and what you need to, making sure you’re always on top!

4. Do the unusual

I am so guilty of never breaking out of my comfort zone. Once I’m comfortable that’s it, I’m happy. But am I really? And that’s something I’m going to put to the test in the new year. More often than not, I find myself saying no to the things I’m sure I won’t like. And I bet you do too! But change that this year. Give yourself five chances to say yes to the things you never, ever would say yes to before!

And you may actually surprise yourself – who knows, you may actually enjoy it! Regardless of the outcome, I promise you will have a positive memory because of it and isn’t that’s what life is about anyway?

5. Don’t be afraid to be you

Last year, I found myself missing out on a lot of things because I was just afraid to speak up and be known. And this can happen a lot in the workplace. But don’t be afraid anymore of anything, because that spotlight that could be shining on you has now gone and shined on someone else. Don’t miss any opportunity! For example, I once had an idea that I was too scared to tell my boss because I was afraid she wouldn’t like it.

I let it go and passed on every opportunity to speak it. In the end, my colleague had gotten that same idea and shared it. And guess what? My boss loved it. Then and there I decided to believe more in myself and value my own ideas. Because I wasn’t going to miss any other opportunity because I wasn’t confident enough in myself.
