7 Tiny Changes That Will Make Your Life So Much Happier

Happiness is contagious! But it’s not always that easy to embrace it, especially on a gray rainy day when you’re overtired, or just feeling a little under the weather. But I promise you this, changing your life in just a few easy steps will make you feel so much better, improve your relationships and catch on with everyone around you.

Since I started to make these changes, I feel like my life has changed for the better in every realm, especially my career…so read on, and find out how to be happy all the time!

1. Create a personal mantra

What’s your first thought when you wake up in the morning? If it isn’t as positive as possible, get rid of it. Your initial thoughts and words set the tone for the rest of the day, so don’t waste them. Speak an uplifting daily mantra aloud to yourself. It could be a positive affirmation, a goal, or a joke (the more inappropriate or corny the better). You own your mantra, so whatever words you choose should bring a smile to your face.

2. Just breathe. Deeply.

Life doesn’t follow the detailed plan you created in your head if it did then it wouldn’t be fun. When it does go astray, hold on tight, and just breathe. You will overcome these overwhelming events by just breathing deeply. Block out all the extra noise and take two to three minutes to focus your breaths. My mantra is always breathe in happiness, blow out the drama!

3. Increase your Vitamin C

Make citrus fruits your BFF! Not only will they help you lose those last few pounds for bikini season, they are also filled with Vitamin C, which is a known mood booster! Next time you are sprinting for the door heading to work, forget the coffee and grab an orange. Your life automatically just got a little brighter.

4. Be bold with color

Some people prefer to keep it neutral and safe with color. That can easily become uninspiring. Colors possess a huge visual presence, known to affect moods. Switch it up! Incorporate bold, bright colors into your wardrobe. Wear color with confidence and strut into work a happier you.

5. Save your coins

Money plays a major role in our daily lives whether we want to admit it or not. It’s true that money can’t buy happiness, but who says you can’t change how you treat it. Saving your coins can bring you increased happiness and joy. If you can only afford to save $5 a week then start there. In a month you will have $20 and in a year you would have saved $240. Witnessing your financial growth does wonders for your self-esteem, independence, and confidence. Who wouldn’t be happy about that?!

6. Move your body

Don’t be lazy! You have to move your body and maintain an active lifestyle. There is no way you can lead a happier life without exercising. We all know the health benefits but you can’t find a better stress relief. Dreading those thirty minutes will be the worst thing you can do, enjoy them. Think about how accomplished and happy you will feel when it’s over.

7. Treat yourself like a queen

If you love, cherish, and pamper yourself you won’t care if you get it from anybody else. What others do will just be an added bonus. Never sacrifice your “me” time! Hard work has its benefits and you deserve to treat yourself like the queen you are. Drink your wine, buy those shoes, eat your favorite ice cream during your Netflix and chill date with yourself. A happier life starts with you, so make it happen.

  • I absolutely love the idea about a personal mantra! Deciding that it is going to be a great day. I firmly believe that the mind is everything. “What you think, you become”

regarding Mantra – also not think just about yourself but who or what you can do to help another person have a better day – love to share a photo of me giving blood and trying to do a “good deed” everyday.
