How To Simplify Your Life When Things Get Stressful

This is the perfect time to slow it down and simplify your life. You want to be on top of everything for 2018 and ready to get things done. But also, just before the holiday season, you want to be stress-free. You want to have all your gifts and cards ticked off, all the decorations up, hosting duties done and ready to enjoy yourself.

Sometimes that means simplifying your life. Don’t worry, you can start today and have a clearer head in no time!

 

1. Declutter

Whenever you’re in a cluttered environment, you feel more overwhelmed. And it can be hard to declutter your life when you’ve got too much to do. If you’re like me, you’ll find it difficult to part with things, so creating keep and chuck piles isn’t going to work for you. I’d say start with one roo at a time and think carefully about your storage solutions.

One of the best things I ever did was purchase storage solutions for my makeup and face masks. In the bathroom, I have a flyer dispenser full of face masks, that makes me feel like everything is tidy but also feels luxurious – as if the bathroom is my own personal spa. Have a think about how you’d like to display (or hide) things to make everything look neater.

 

2. Write down your routine 

Creating a routine for your life and sticking to it is the best way to stay clear-minded. I wake up at the same time no matter whether it’s a weekend or a weekday because I know then I won’t feel awful at 6 am on a Monday morning. Now’s the perfect time to write down what your perfect day would look like.

How to achieve it: Firstly, you can sign up for a food box service like Hello Fresh, it has saved me so much money on groceries and comes in a box with easy recipes to follow. Our weekly meals are 50% of what they used to be. Secondly, sign up for a service like Amazon Prime. Usually, these services save you money. I know with Prime I save a lot of money on books, tv shows, and movies. You can also use something like Mint to keep track of your finances and make sure that all those subscriptions aren’t doing more harm than good.
