A great morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. It’s not just about your environment, it’s about your attitude. You need to wake up ready to go get ’em, rather than ready to hit snooze. Which means everything you do in the morning, you should do with purpose. Wake up with a smile, stretch your body, set a plan, and when it comes to your beauty routine, fast doesn’t mean rushed. You can get yourself looking polished and put together in just a few minutes with the right tools, and the right routine. Our quick morning routine video will teach you how.
1. Oxygenate your skin to make this routine work
Blast your skin with cool water before you leave the shower. It’ll energize your mind and body, increase the blood flow to your skin and deliver more oxygen to your face, making you look fresher and more awake.
0-2 minutes: Lock in the moisture
Start your routine by applying a moisturizer, wait no longer than 3 minutes after you’ve left the shower to start this routine. Applying a moisturizer straight away will lock in the nice cool moisture from the shower and will give you a dewy glow. We used Aura Mirabilis Legendary Cream.
Wait for a second and then follow up with primer, we used the Marc Jacobs Coconut Primer for this. You only need a pea sized pump, starting in the center of your face and working outward so that your foundation sits properly all day.
2-3 minutes: Apply concealer with your lightest finger
Your ring finger won’t pull on your eyes, making it the lightest finger to dab concealer on with, which will give you a nice, soft coverage. Try to do this in around 30 seconds, apply and tap, we used the Marc Jacobs Concealer.
3-4 minutes: Don’t make this bronzer mistake
In the last few minutes, you can easily fix your face. Applying foundation with a wet beauty blender is not only fast but it’ll give you great skin. You should only need around a minute, or a minute and a half for this. We used Charlotte Tilbury Youth Boosting Foundation and a Beauty Blender.
Follow this up with a thick brush for a sun-kissed bronzed look, our pick is the Charlotte Tilbury Face Sculpt & Bronze. Don’t be tempted to grab just any brush, the thicker the bristles of your brush, the better color payoff you will get. You can dust it around your face in less than a minute, it won’t make your face look dirty.
4-5 minutes: Finishing touches
Grab a neutral eyeshadow like Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita. You only need one shade to add definition to your eyes and make yourself look more awake. A soft eyebrow pencil will make creating natural brows in minutes easy. All you have to do is draw soft hair-like strokes on your eyebrows. Avoid creating harsh lines if you’re short on time, they take longer to blend out. The best pencil for the job is the Marc Jacobs Brow Wow Pencil.
Open up your eyes with a great mascara, Nars Audacious mascara is great for lengthening your eyelashes and making you look more awake. Finish it all off with a swipe or two of Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Liner. It will give you a soft, defined lip. You can follow it up with the lipstick for a beautiful, natural look.
