Relax And Unwind: 4 Steps To The Perfect Evening Ritual

It’s Christmas eve! A magical time to relax and prepare for tomorrow. No matter what you’re doing, there’s always the chance it can be a tiny bit stressful (maybe an understatement!). If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been rushing around all day getting things ready – and maybe even finishing some work.

Luckily, you can get yourself back to your best in just one evening. De-stress, give your skin a boost and wake up fresh and positive tomorrow morning!

 

Step 1: Run that bubble bath 

 

I’m a firm believer in the power of a bubble bath. Make some time this evening to run a bath and load up with bubbles. My favorite at the moment is Laura Mercier’s Fresh Fig Bath. But you might have a favorite stored away under your sink. This is the perfect time to pour some bubbles in and let the bath get warm.

 

Step 2: Create your cozy

For this evening ritual to work, you’re going to need to invoke some of the magic of Christmas. That means, light a candle, put on some music, and get out your favorite lotions and potions. This evening is all about you. I love to get a sheet mask, light one of my hundreds of candles and hop in the bath. I stay in the bath for far too long, usually around 30 minutes. I’m also reading How To Be An Overnight Success by Maria Hatzistefanis. It’s a great read to unwind with for a while.

 

Step 3: Make notes

 

To cut through any anxiety and stress once you’ve relaxed in the bath, try some mindfulness. It’ll clear your mind and get you in the right mindset for the day. Positivity is important! Appreciate every little thing, every family member stopping by, every possible kitchen disaster. You can even write down some thoughts and feelings, anything you’re a bit worried or nervous about – for example, cooking!

Or anything that you’re excited about, like watching family members open your gifts. If you get it all out of your mind, you’re less likely to stay up thinking about it and can enjoy yourself.

 

Step 4: De-stress your bedroom 

 

I love to end my evening with a luxurious face cream. I have found my new favorite as well. It might be pricey but Elemis Marine Cream is really the best of the best. I only used it once so far and saw a massive difference in how my makeup goes on the next day. I also love to use Neom products to get me ready for bed before a big day or event.

Christmas is as big, loud, and boisterous as it can get. So I’m loving my Neom Perfect Night’s Sleep kit. I also have one to give me an energy boost in the morning, and just saying, they have a de-stress spray for those moments on Christmas day when things get a bit stressful.
