The 5 Beauty Products I Can’t Live Without

I’ll admit, when Charlotte Tilbury first came on the scene, I wasn’t interested. I already knew (or thought I knew) which products worked best for me, and I didn’t need some new name, who always promised to do more. But that was then, and those who know me now will know that I’m Charlotte Tilbury obsessed.

So what changed? Well, never one to say no to trying new things, I tested the products before I swore off them, and I realized, as well as being seriously easy on the eye – they actually work. I ditched whatever I had in my makeup bag and started again, with a little help from Charlotte, of course. This is the brand almost everyone I know owns or wants to own, and there are plenty of reasons why! Here are a few of my favorites…

The perfect lips:

The first time I ever tried Pillow Talk was at one of the makeup counters in a department store. You know what’s it like, you never leave those places without buying something. I’m what you can call an easy target, and I found myself sat in the chair, planning how I could get out of it. But then Pillow Talk was put on my lips. I swear to God, once I saw what this one looked like on, I became a lipstick fiend. It was perfect and now I can’t go a day without wearing it!

The surprising star of my makeup bag:

For a girl who never uses bronzer, ever. I was surprised when I gave the Film Star Bronze & Glow a go. To tell you the truth, I was just after the highlighter. But the two came together amazingly to create a subtle glow. The highlight is perfect for those girls who want to be highlighted but don’t want to look like they’re wearing loads of make-up. And the bronze isn’t too much at all, it blends very well, and gives you a more defined sculpted look.

The light of my life:

I may have already been a sucker for everything Charlotte Tilbury by now, but I wasn’t brave enough to go for her foundation. I was happy with the foundation I already used, and that was that. Until Christmas. Everyone always ranted and raved about how amazing the Light Wonder Foundation was, saying it was the best coverage they ever had. And when I finally had a bottle to try, I felt so stupid. Why hadn’t I tried it sooner? Like almost everything Charlotte Tilbury I’ve tried so far, it’s the best foundation I’ve ever had. It gives me a great coverage, letting my skin still shine through but also evening everything out. LOVE. IT.

A true magic balm:

So by this point, I had already met my lipstick match. But the makeup artist wasn’t finished with me yet. With Pillow Talk liner all over my lips, it acted just like a lipstick. And then the makeup artist put the Lip Magic balm on top. Now, a little tip I learned that day, mix a lip balm with a lip liner to get a soft, soothing version of the best selling lipstick. Genius. I bought it, post haste.

My skin savior:

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Night Cream available here.

With my Charlotte Tilbury obsession growing, I’d already heard multiple love stories told about the Magic Night Cream, so I decided to buy myself a little gift and get it for myself. I already knew, at this point, that it was going to be worth it, one thing I’ve learned is to never doubt Charlotte. Never. Anyway, so the first time I used this on my face I was shocked. It works overnight, like magic, it does exactly what it says on the label. Smoothing, brightening and evening my skin while I’m busy dreaming.

When I woke up, gone was my dull, puffy morning skin, replaced with smooth, hydrated, glowing skin. I didn’t even want to wear makeup. And I dab a little extra on spots in the evening to get them to shrink away. What is in this stuff? Whatever it is – I believe it came straight out of Hogwarts. Seriously.

GOOD THINGS

…come to those who sign up for our emails

  • I think I am going to have to try that magic night cream =o)

    • It’s seriously magic. I actually put it on spots when they appear and when I wake up they’ve either disappeared or are on their way out. I agree with Libby in this article, it’s like it came straight from Hogwarts. Still not totally convinced that it doesn’t knock me out and let a team of beautician elves work on me while I sleep…

  • As a fellow Charlotte Tilbury obsessor I am surprised I haven’t tried many of these products sooner, but you’ve completely sold me! I’m not a wearer of bronzer but your review of the Film Star Bronze & Glow has really given me a push to try it out. I’m also desperate to get my hands on the Pillow Talk lipstick as I use the liner everyday.
