6 Netflix Shows You Need To Cozy Up With

The weather is turning, pumpkin spice is back, and it’s time to start getting cozy. A dose of Netflix is just what the doctor ordered. But let me set the scene for you because it’s all too familiar. You’re wondering what to watch on Netflix. You’ve got the remote, you’ve got Netflix all ready, and then…you stop. There’s too much choice, you’re squabbling with the other half, you’ve read every single synopsis and you still don’t know what to choose.

Let me do the hard work for you, these are the best shows on Netflix right now.

1. Narcos

Narcos is the story of Pablo Escobar, the Colombian drug lord. It might not sound like it’s really ‘up your street’ but you’ll be hooked from episode one, with drama, glamour, and suspense, you find yourself rooting for all the wrong people. The newest series tells the story of the Cali Cartel, and it promises to be this weekend’s best viewing.

2. Orphan Black

If you haven’t started Orphan Black, do yourself a favor and watch it from the very beginning. It’s phenomenal. Tatiana Maslany is just incredible. It tells the story of a woman who finds out she’s a clone. You actually forget it’s just one actress portraying all these complex characters, and the more the show goes on the deeper you get hooked in.

3. The Expanse

Everyone is going crazy for The Expanse since the second series has dropped. It’s a sci-fi show designed for a 21st-century audience. With the rise of shows like Game of Thrones making these genres more mainstream, The Expanse is dramatic, well-written and a seriously good watch.

4. Glow

Maybe you want something a little less dark – we hear you. You’re alone in the house and you don’t fancy watching Making A Murderer. Glow is your go-to. In a nutshell, it’s about female wrestling, but it’s so much more than that. It’s oh so good. Just watch the trailer, it’ll give you chills and make you feel empowered. You’re a woman and you can do ANYTHING! Watch this if you need a boost.

5. The Keepers

Love true crime? Watch The Keepers, it’s so creepy, so sad, and so intriguing. It’s not just about an unsolved murder, it’s about corruption in the church and how a community covered it up. If you’re an armchair detective, you need to watch this.

6. Alias Grace

Ok, I cheated a little bit because this one is coming out soon. It’s going to be so good and I want to make sure everyone’s ready to watch it. If you loved Handmaid’s Tale as much as I did (seriously when is it back?) you’ll love this one. Margaret Atwood is a genius, I’ve always loved her writing and now she gets to be behind two powerhouse shows. Can’t wait for this one.

GOOD THINGS

…come to those who sign up for our emails

  • Tony.

The only one I’ve seen is Orphan Black, but if your other recommendations are half as good, I shall definitely watch them. By the way you are right about Tatiana Maslany she is tremendous in the role.

  • Sunny (curlingbooks)

Great, now I have even more shows on my watchlist 😭

  • Rachel Vaughan

Loved GLOW! I literally watched it all in one weekend and then followed it up with the GLOW documentary on Netflix about the really ladies of GLOW. Not gonna lie, Mt. Fiji may have made me tear up while watching the doc.

  • Coline

Currently watching Orphan Black and it is SO GOOD! Glow was OK but not my favorite one, it starts really slowly.

  • Erin Turingan

I’m excited for Alias Grace! I don’t have a Hulu account so I’m in the major minority that hasn’t seen Handmaid’s Tale yet :'( . http://www.coffeemeetspolished.com

  • Crystal Nichole

Is it me or I couldn’t find Orohan Black in Netflix ?

    • Dawn

Orphan Black is now only available on DVD…too bad because it’s a really great show, with a crazy storyline!

  • I’ve heard so many great things about Narcos. I’ll probably start it this weekend. Wanted to watch Orphan Black but it is no longer available :(
