Our bodies are truly amazing, allowing us to do so much in our lives. They function in similar ways to one another, yet at the same time they come in so many different shapes and sizes. Here are 10 things that every woman should know and never forget about her wonderful body.
#1 You only get one
This is obvious, but shouldn’t be taken lightly. Start caring for your body now and you will be grateful to your younger self as you age. The better you take care of your body the better it will feel. It is that simple.
#2 Your appetite will fluctuate
You should eat when you feel hungry, even if you just ate an hour ago. The amount might change, but if those hunger pains won’t go away with a glass of water, don’t ignore them. This might mean that you eat a little more one day than the next but don’t worry, it will all even out.
#3 You should drink lots of water
We hear this all of the time and that is because it is important enough to mention over and over. Being dehydrated can cause all sorts of problems. Not to mention that considering your body is over 60% water, so it obviously needs to be replenished with lots of it, which is hard to over do. Keep your body hydrated and you will feel good.
#4 You should get enough sleep
Your body needs time to rest and rejuvenate. You can really feel it the next day when you don’t get enough sleep, which can impact a lot of things in your day-to-day life such as your work performance and mood. Getting enough will make your life easier and your body healthier. So don’t be lax about it too often.
#5 Feel good look good
When you are taking care of your body you will feel good and when you feel amazing you look amazing. Super simple. If you aren’t taking care of yourself, more likely than not that will be reflected in your mood and the way you see yourself.
#6 No one is as critical of your body as you are
People are usually more worried about what they look like themselves. Plus people will focus more on how you make them feel than on small things that you think are a big deal.
#7 Weight gain and weight loss happen over time not overnight
If you want to enjoy pizza or a slice of cake once in awhile it isn’t going to wreck your health. What matters is how you are eating the majority of the time. Your weight will change depending on that and the change will usually be quite gradual.
#8 Exercise feels good
That’s right, I said it feels good. And it really does. When you get into a routine you will start to enjoy it more and more. Your body wants to move and be strong, which will in turn benefit your overall health. So don’t neglect it.
#9 Your lady parts are fine
Our lady parts come in all sorts of shapes and colors. There is nothing to be ashamed of or worried about, unless something changes noticeably and drastically. Go to the doctor when you need to and otherwise don’t worry about it.
#10 Your size doesn’t determine your health
One person can be really thin and really out of shape while someone who is much larger in size might be in excellent health. We are all different and that is beautiful. So, don’t compare your size to others. Just worry about whether you feel good or not, because like we mentioned earlier: when you feel amazing you look amazing.
Good post but I’ll have to disagree on “no one is as critical of your body as you are”. A lot of people get judged for their bodies in a serious way both IRL and online. People think they can tell a lot about who you are just by looking at you. Wish it wasn’t like that :(
I love these tips and I totally agree with you – if you feel good, you’ll look good! With love, Carmen

This is a really feel-good post, I love it ! The #1 surprised me, but you are true : we only got one body, and we don’t think about that enough … we should cherish that instead of be ashamed … !
Great post ! I think everyone should read that

I completely agree, especially with the water. I have personally see the benefits of drinking more water, and when I’m really going into high gear fitness-wise then I try to drink three times my body weight in ounces.
loved this post :) everyone should love themselves and feel good everyday xx
