10 Things You Need To Know About Your Skin In Your 20ies
Angelica Blick

It’s our biggest organ yet we don’t know much about it and sometimes we take it for granted. Being young and beautiful is indeed no excuse to not take care of what should be our best friend, our skin. Our skin reflects our overall health and for a Career Girl who has to balance her life between everyday struggles and the attempt to look effortlessly beautiful, taking care of our body’s protective shell should be more important than anything else.

So here there a few things everyone should know about our skin and that can help us taking a better care of it!

#1 Water Is Your Skin’s BFF

If you don’t drink a minimum of eight glasses of water per day, your body will not get the hydration it needs and this will result in your skin being dry and with flaky patches.

#2 Work Out And You’ll Glow Like A Star!

Exercising is essential for your skin to be toned. Exercise increases our blood flow and helps nourish skin cells. It also keeps the stress level low and well…it will make your skin glow immediately!

#3 Avoid Coffee And Cocktails

Indeed, too much coffee and too many cocktails will dehydrate your skin. But if you really can’t live without your daily Starbucks then make sure to apply a good moisturising cream on a daily basis.

#4 Skipping Meals Can Cause Your Skin To Age Faster

It is not good for you overall health and it is not good for your skin. Whether you are dieting or not, skipping meals will not bring you any good.

#5 Sharing Is Not Always Caring

Sharing your make up with your girlfriends might turn out to be quite dangerous for your skin. You might run the risk to get an eye or skin infection by simply using your friend’s eye shadow.

#6 Your Skin Needs To Breathe

Heavy makeup won’t allow your skin to breathe, thus resulting in pores getting clogged and causing our worst nightmare: acne. Try to give your skin a break from time to time, applying less makeup. You will look  fabulous any way

#7 Being Too Social Is Not Good For Your Skin

Believe it or not but the more hours you spend talking on the phone, the more you run the risk to cause breakups and rashes on your jawline. Try not to hold your phone against you cheek and instead use your earphones.

#8 Clean Your Skin Daily And Say Bye To Oil And Acne!

Cleaning your skin on a daily basis is the number one rule to avoid having acne and an excess of oil and dirt. Find the right cleanser and apply it every day before going to bed. It will help you fight bacterial infection and help your skin breathe and have the night rest it deserves.

#9 Don’t Pop Your Pimples!

I know, it is hard not to but try to make an effort and avoid popping your pimples and touching your skin too much. Indeed, you can cause the pore to grow bigger and leave scars on your face.

#10 Your Skin Doesn’t Like Sugar

Sorry Adam Levine, we love your song but eating too much sugar can cause sagging over time as it breaks down collagen, which is what gives your skin its structure and tone.

I love this post! I am trying to drink more water to help my skin and I try to have a “no makeup” day at least once a week!

Great article. I met a woman who tested some anti-aging product for a top company on half her face in her early twenties and now, 20+ years later, one side of her face is less droppy than the other. It PAYS to preserve what you have even from a young age. I was very diligent about my skin in my late teens and not so much in my twenties and early thirties. It started to tell on my but I have been some new stem cell products that are helping.
