Success is defined many ways. Financial, relationship and philanthropic success are just a few ways we can measure success. How does someone become successful in their goals and create a positive mindset?
Here are 12 things you can do every day for a positive mindset.
Follow Your Routine
You know what’s best for you, so build a schedule around that. And stick to it! I promise, you’ll feel more accomplished and on track, ready to take on whatever else it thrown your way.
Take A Cold Water Shower
The 30-Day Cold Water Shower Challenge is a craze that more people should be reading up about. It’ll feel like the worst shower in the world but it gets easier each day, and all the challenge-takers thus far promise it lives up to its physical and mental health benefits such as improved circulation and metabolism, quicker muscle recovery, and decreased anxiety.
Say “NO” More Often
Whether you work for somebody else, take care of your own family, or just feel compelled to please other people in general, we all get sucked into saying yes to things we don’t actually want to do. Don’t get me wrong, pleasing other people is very satisfying, but at some point, saying yes to everything is going to do more damage to you personally than it will be doing you any good. It’s okay to say no sometimes. If someone asks you to help them out, it’s because they are giving you the option to say yes or no. So, say no if you want; the option is there! Do what’s best for you.

Renovate Your Social Media.
Why do women like to lurk around on social media? Following models on Instagram or scrolling through Facebook to find out what the cool girls are up to this weekend. What do we hope to gain from any of this? All I seem to come away with is jealousy and that’s not getting anybody anywhere. Get rid of the accounts that make you cynical and live your life for you, not for the next Instagram pic.
Get Out In Nature.
Whether nature is a park outside your office, a walk to the coffee shop at lunch, or a hike on the weekend, putting yourself in nature will give you a reason to just breathe and put life into perspective.
Stop Comparing Yourself To People You Admire
You are not your boss, or your coworker, or Kate Moss for that matter. They are their own people with their own stories. We all have facades and so do they, with stories underneath that would make you see them differently if you knew. Stop seeing them as perfect Barbie dolls. Wherever they are in their lives cannot be compared to where you are in yours.
Be Generous
Giving just a little, when the opportunity strikes, will make you feel happy and fulfilled. Bake for your kids, or your office; pay it forward at the drive-thru; pick up somebody’s train fare. It all counts.
Check In With Your Mind, Body, Spirit And Balance
If one is outweighing the others, life just doesn’t feel right. Figure out what that is and make a plan to get the balance back.
Sleep.
Sleep!
Treat Yourself
It’s okay to reward yourself for the little things. If you’re feeling particularly down or particularly up, there’s no better person to take care of you than you!
Find Your Zen
What makes you calm? Reading, yoga, music? Do that as much as you can. Build it into your routine so you have something to look forward to
Cut Back On The Caffeine
Simple enough. Cut out the soda or switch to decaf coffee after lunch. You don’t have to go cold turkey all at once, but just become aware of your intake and see what you can do to make a positive change.
