3 Morning Habits For A Super Productive Day

@heyhegia

Yes, your morning habits can set you up for success! We’ve all had those days where we ‘got out of the wrong side of the bed’ and everything seems to go wrong. It seems to last all day with more bad things cropping up to add to our negative mood.

But having a good morning routine can make sure you start your day on the right foot and can set you up for success. So it’s super important to make sure your morning routine has healthy habits to make sure your mood and body are prepared for a successful, productive day.

So if you feel like your morning could do with a better routine… or you want to create a morning routine, then be sure to include these three morning habits for a super productive day.

1. Wake Up Early

We’ve all been there…wrapped up cozy in bed and the alarm drags you out of a dream. You hit the snooze button and roll over for just ‘5 more minutes’. Next thing you’re leaping out of bed, rushing around getting ready for your day without time to think. Not only do you feel rushed, but you’re more likely to forget things too.

Waking up earlier gives you more time to prepare for the day. It also gives you time to have some ‘you time’. This can be either showering (not just a 30-second scrub and dash), doing your skincare routine or makeup, etc. or just sitting with a drink and a book before you start your day.

Many successful people are early risers and they start the day before everyone else. If it works for them, why can’t it work for you?

Waking up early and finding time to exercise, read, meditate or even walk the dog before you start your day can make you feel like you’ve achieved so much before the rest of the world wakes up.

And trust me, it feels good.

2. Have Gratitude

Gratitude can be expressed in so many ways. You can show gratitude by saying thank you to someone for something they did, writing down something you’re thankful for, or even creating a mental list of things in your life you’re grateful for. My favorite way to do this is in the Gratitude Journal. I find doing this every single day helps me to focus on the positives and focus my energy on good things in life.

Incorporating gratitude into a morning routine can boost your mood and put you in a positive, successful mindset, ready to tackle the day.

Even saying thank you and being grateful for something like clear blue skies in the morning, can help you start your morning on a positive note. It also helps you see the good in things and reminds you not to take things for granted – two factors that can boost your mood and prepare you to smash your goals for the day.

3. Make a note of your priorities for the day

Writing down tasks when they come to mind means your brain doesn’t have to remember them all. But only getting through a couple of small tasks on the list can make you feel deflated, unsuccessful, and unmotivated.  A smaller list with just the priorities for that day is much easier to tackle and you get that sense of achievement when it’s done. Jotting tasks down in a planner or journal can make it super easy to keep track of your daily to-do lists. I like to use the Getting Stuff Done planner as it allows me to keep track of both my business & personal to-do lists!

Whilst you might have a to-do list the length of your arm (I definitely do), it’s important to pick out 2 or 3 tasks which you are going to prioritize and make progress with them first.

If these 2 or 3 tasks are the biggest, most challenging tasks, then by completing these tasks first, the rest of your to-do list looks like a walk in the park. And we all love an easy walk in the park.
