3 Reasons Pineapple Is Amazing For Your Skin And You Should Try It Out This Weekend

At home beauty remedies that are good enough to eat! With its spiky green leaves, cross-hatched, prickly skin, and yellow flesh, pineapple is a tasty treat for both the eyes and the palate. But its tropical sweet bitter taste is not the only good reason to incorporate it into your diet. Rich in vitamins and minerals, pineapple is amazing for your skin too.

#1. Pineapple fights premature ageing

Pineapple can help you age slowly and gracefully. How? It’s rich in polyphenols and vitamin c, powerful antioxidants that prevent premature aging. They can boost collagen production, which keeps skin firm and elastic. Antioxidants also help fight sun damage and prevent wrinkles from forming too soon.

To enjoy its full benefits, eat a couple of slices of pineapple at breakfast every day. You can also add some antioxidant-rich blueberries, and omega 3-laden flaxseeds and nuts. They’ll make your breakfast even tastier, and your skin and body a lot healthier.

#2. Pineapple brightens skin

Pineapple is also a source of bromelain, an enzyme that softens and exfoliates skin. It helps get rid of all the cells that accumulate on its surface, revealing the brighter and smoother new layer of skin underneath.

You can make your own exfoliant by mixing 1/4 of mashed pineapple, 1/4 of mashed papaya, 2 tbsp of brown sugar, 1 tbsp of sweet almond oil, and 1 tbsp of honey. Apply the mixture to your skin and leave it on for a few minutes. Then, rinse off with warm water, and watch your skin glow.

#3. Pineapple has anti-inflammatory properties

Vitamin c and bromelain also have anti-inflammatory properties that help skin heal. Bromelain is so good at this, it’s commonly used to reduce the bruising, redness, and pain that inevitably follows invasive cosmetic procedures. If your skin is swollen and inflamed, eating a few slices of pineapple may well help soothe it and nurse it back to health.

Now that you know how good pineapple is for your skin, you can enjoy its taste guilt-free. Your skin will thank you for it!
