Do you always feel like you’re trying to get your life together? Don’t worry, because we know we all fight the same battles. Some days you may think you’re winning, but that can quickly come crashing down when something else demands your focus. So what can you do? The following women seem as though they have it down, but they come from interesting backgrounds that show it was a struggle for them too.

1. Kristina Karlsson

Kristina is the founder of the beautiful stationary brand, Kikki K, which fuses the two things we’re obsessed with here; stylish stationery and organization. Kristina’s life advice is all about getting those ideas onto paper. Even in the middle of the night! Her brand even stocks a 3 am journal for this very purpose, which is perfect for the creative night owl. Because there’s nothing wrong with emptying your mind onto paper.

2. Arianna Huffington

Arianna’s advice is simple; get more sleep! The successful business woman and the general all-rounder believes that if you appreciate the value of your sleep, you will ultimately be more productive. Therefore all of your ducks will be in a row, as a result. Arianna has spoken about this subject in a number of different forums, one of which is a Ted Talk, where she delivers the famous line: ‘We are literally going to sleep our way to the top,’. I can certainly get on board with this! I think I’ll start with a nap.

3. Tina Fey

Tina is a woman of many guises – she is an actor, a writer, and a producer. So, she must have to have it together, right? For those of you who have read her autobiography ‘Bossypants’, you will know that she has a refreshing approach to what it means to ‘juggle it all’. One of my favorite quotes from the book is the moment she decides to get it together and describes how she stole a promotion from her co-worker in her earlier life, she concludes ‘That makes me sound like a jerk, I know. But remember the beginning of the story where I was the underdog? No? Me neither.’  Make a name of for yourselves Career Girls, and don’t be afraid to!

4. Nicola Mendelsohn

Nicola is the VP EMEA at Facebook and an altogether amazing woman. You may be able to catch her at the occasional advertising or marketing seminar, she is an incredible speaker if you do ever get a chance to see her. Nicola’s advice is to surround yourself with your very own board of people. People that can support you, hold you accountable and help you not only get yourself together but importantly, keep yourself together. This is perfect advice, as surrounding yourself with genuine people you will be stronger, and ready to take on anything.

    These are some great tips.

They aren’t anything I hadn’t heard before, but that just further proves their value. Sometimes, we forget the little things can make a HUGE difference, like getting enough sleep or ensuring you have a good support system. We tend to overlook those in favor of that hottest new “secret” or “hack” for success.

It’s hard work to reach your goals, but you can’t do it without taking care of yourself – and that’s what this post really highlights.

    Great post!
