Shailene Woodley is a passionate activist. If you follow her on social media, you already know this. She likes to lend her voice to good causes, and we applaud her for that. Today is International day of the girl, so we’re embracing the fierce individualism of Shailene and think she stands by her views, which is amazing.

Unfortunately, though. Her passion got her in a spot of trouble recently. Her passion for environmental conservation led her to a protest about the construction of an oil pipeline that threatens the Missouri River if it leaks. On her Instagram, she posted a photo of armed police trying to highlight what the protestors had to contend with including “shotguns and semi-automatic rifles aimed at our relatives AND had planes spraying tear gas above the crowd!”

While she was leaving a peaceful protest at the construction site, she livestreamed an interaction with those guards that didn’t go to plan.

The police dispersed the gathering. 200 protestors attended, and they had to be dispersed, Woodley continued livestreaming, she was walking with her mother talking about how peaceful they were when she noticed two large armored vehicles. “Not to make a bad cinema joke, but there’s some divergent shit about to happen,” she said. “I was just told that the cops are following me. Send some prayers.”

Later, she was told she was under arrest for criminal trespassing. 26 other protesters were separately arrested. “It’s because I’m well known,” she said. “It’s because I have 40,000 people watching.”

Woodley has yet to issue a statement but the videos from her Facebook livestream have since been removed from her page. Others tweeted support to her, including John Green, Mark Ruffalo and Maggie Q:
