We all love a cheat day once in a while, but when our cheat day becomes a cheat week its time to get back on track! Did you know that eating more can actually help you to lose weight? Read our article on eating more and losing more here, and try these 5 snacks next time you’re craving junk food . . . snacking doesn’t have to be off limits when you’re eating clean, it’s just about snacking on the right things.

Pita bread and hummus 

Wholemeal pittas with hummus are a great snack when you’re feeling tired. You’ve got your slow releasing carbs and hummus which is a good source of fat. Switch your afternoon chocolate bar for this and you will feel so much better. This rosemary beet hummus is delicious and perfect for Insta photos! 

Homemade energy balls 

These are perfect for on the go, simply mix together oats, honey, peanut butter and vanilla extract as a base and be as creative as you like with the mixable toppings, try berries, chia seeds or dry fruit . .  .even sprinkle some cocoa powder in the mix or coconut shavings to give them an extra boost. Healthy popcorn 

Yes, popcorn is healthy, unfortunately not the stuff you buy from the store, but you can have fun by buying the un-popped popcorn and making it at home, and if you want to add a little taste to it you can always add some cinnamon, stevia sugar or a small sprinkle of dark chocolate chips. Crunchy yogurt bark (tastes better than it sounds, I promise!) 

Mix low fat yoghurt and honey together and pour onto a non-stick tray. Then add any toppings you fancy, fruit, nuts a couple of dark chocolate chunks (rumor has it, a little dark chocolate isn’t that bad for you!). Freeze for 2-4 hours and then chop them into bars and you’re good to go, these bars can stay in the freezer for up to a month!
