So many people tend to focus on pop culture celebrities when there are so many distinguished women who have done so much for both women’s rights and the rights of others who deserve to be highlighted and recognized as well.

  2. Love these quotes, and this woman! The second one really resonated with me. Reminded me of a time I was working at a summer camp and the head counselor challenged us all to “be known for our kindness”. It’s stuck with me ever since.

  3. I was fortunate to hear Maya Angelo speak twice; once in Petaluma and another time in South San Francisco at a teacher’s conference. Her voice still resonates within me, as well as her wisdon. Thanks for the reminder.
