5 Surprising Ways To Naturally Whiten Your Teeth

  Schermafbeelding 2015-07-09 om 00.14.01

Unfortunately, we are not all blessed with perfect white teeth, no matter how often we floss or brush them. Whitening your teeth is something that has become more accepted in our society today and the prices go from very cheap to outrageously expensive.

Luckily for us, mother nature gave us some ingredients that can help us to make our teeth brighter and whiter, and that barely cost any money. Don’t worry, we already did the research for you, here are 5 surprising ways to naturally whiten your teeth.

#1 – Baking soda

One of the products that became really popular this year. Most people say it work great and really makes your teeth whiter. All you have to do is make a paste by mixing hydrogen peroxide with a small amount of baking soda, brush your teeth with it and then normally brush your teeth with toothpaste. Like with almost everything, don’t overuse it, because it can damage the enamel on your teeth. Also, it might not taste great but it really will work to brighten your teeth.

#2 – Coconut Oil

There is a lot of fact and fiction surrounding oil pulling. Some say it is a myth while others believe it to be the solution to whiter teeth and greater gums. This ancient Ayurvedic practice became very popular in the ‘natural health circle’ and scientist say there are a lot of other health benefits as well.

If you want to whiten your teeth with coconut oil, simply take a tablespoon of pure coconut oil and swish the oil around in your mouth for approximately 15/20 minutes. Spit it out and brush your teeth as normal.

#3 – Banana rub

A fruity one! Banana peel apparently works very well if you want to have whiter teeth. It is a healthy and safe way to get whiter teeth and does no harm. Simply take a piece of the inside of a banana, and rub it around your teeth for approximately 2 minutes. In order for it to work you need to do it regularly.

#4 – Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

This is probably the wonder product of the year, don’t believe us? Read more about what apple cider vinegar can do here – it’s a miracle! It has been proven that this one works, but you need to be very consistent and it will take at least a month before you notice the difference. There are even people who say that it looks like your teeth are professionally cleaned. After brushing your teeth with ACV make sure you brush your teeth again with normal toothpaste. Don’t overuse it, because ACV can remove the enamel of your teeth as well!

#5 – Strawberry paste

This one is definitely a tasty one to try. Tyra Banks tried it in one of her shows, but because she already bleaches her teeth, the difference wasn’t that noticeable. Simply mix some strawberries until they’re in a paste, then rub them all over your teeth and rinse well afterward. Some people say it works right away, but you might need to do it more regular to notice the difference. At least it tastes nice!
