5 Things You Didn’t Know About Melania Trump

Don’t underestimate Melania Trump. The Trump name is quite controversial at the moment (to say the least) and has created some debate, but I always try to remind everyone to respect each other and support each other. Melania has maintained a dignified silence at crucial points throughout Trump’s campaign.

Now everybody is wondering what kind of First Lady she’s going to be. So here are a few facts about Melania that you might not know.

1. She met Donald in 1998

“He wanted my number, but he was with a date, so of course I didn’t give it to him,” Melania told Harper’s Bazaar. “I said, ‘I am not giving you my number; you give me yours, and I will call you.’ I wanted to see what kind of number he would give me—if it was a business number, what is this? I’m not doing business with you.” Instead, Donald gave her all of his numbers—”the office, Mar-a-Lago, home in New York, everything”—and told her to call.”

2. She will be America’s first foreign-born first lady since Louisa Adams

Melania was born in Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia (then part of Yugoslavia) on April 26M 1970. She became a US citizen in 2006, the year after her marriage, but had her green card in 2001. Many people have commented on her nationality in light of Trump’s immigration policies, but Melania stands by her husband.

3. She began modeling at 16.

Melania has graced the world’s catwalks, she appeared naked on the front of British GQ, the shoot took place in Trump’s Boeing 727. She also appeared in the 2000 swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated. She will be the first First Lady to have posed nude. Some people criticized her for this.

4. She doesn’t always agree with her husband

“I give him my opinions, and sometimes he takes them in, and sometimes he does not. Do I agree with him all the time? No. I think it is good for a healthy relationship. I am not a ‘yes’ person. No matter who you are married to, you still need to lead your life.” She told Harper’s Bazaar. “I don’t want to change him. And he doesn’t want to change me.”

5. She’s quite the business woman herself

She launched a caviar skin-care line and a jewelry line with QVC and was in charge of a lot of press events and giving interviews about her products. She’s put her business endeavors on hold for a while, since the Presidency and looking after her children came first. She also will be the first First Lady to speak five languages, which will really come in handy for diplomatic meetings and dinners, we’re sure!

Woah, it’s quite interesting how she wasn’t originally from the US! But yes, those languages will definitely be handy.

As a woman, we should stand for other woman no matter who they are or their background. Whether or not she was well educated in the academic field, she is still a woman with high passion and direction. In the end of the day, the first lady with a beautiful heart matter’s most. My 2 cents opinion. Such an awesome post. Thanks for sharing. Sharon Elsie | diva-in-me.com

I find it interesting how in the age of people wanting to “free the nipple” people of that age still are the first to criticize her for posing nude. I enjoyed this article because it wasn’t hateful or disrespectful. Just facts. Great article.
