5 Tips on How To Overcome the Sunday Night Blues

_DSC5155

Ironically, it’s Sunday night and I am sitting here with quite the case of the Sunday night blues. With Monday around the corner, I am wishing the weekend was just one day longer. I know I’m not alone here. Even a career girl who absolutely LOVES her job can have a Sunday where the thought of going to work the next day doesn’t exactly have her jumping for joy. Luckily, CGD has some tips on how you can overcome these Sunday night blues.

1. Do Sunday on Saturday

For many of us, Sundays are reserved for grocery shopping, doing the laundry, cleaning, cooking and just general life admin. Instead of leaving all of these chores to Sunday, making it a rather hectic day, try and get some of them done on Saturday. This will allow you to enjoy more of your Sunday, making the weekend seem a bit longer. Carry on making the most of your time, with these simple tips!

2. Don’t skip the gym

Working out releases endorphins and endorphins make you happy, a true fact said by Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. So even if a lazy Sunday may look appealing, try not to skip out on your sweat sesh or perhaps opt for something like yoga or pilates, which can incorporate mindfulness and relaxation. Not only will your body be recharged, but so will your mind. Read our article here on how to wake up the next day feeling incredible.

3. Indulge in some wine and cheese

That being said, if you’ve been working hard all week, you deserve to have a bottle of your favorite wine handy and a cheese board. For the foodies, you could explore your local grocery store to try out some new cheeses. This is a small way to wind down in the evening and makes Sunday a bit more special and not so blah.

4. Give yourself the spa treatment

Light a candle in your bathroom and start by taking a nice long shower or luxurious bubble bath. This should be followed by a deep cleansing facial mask that will leave you with a fresh face. See our pick of the best pore-unclogging products here! Cap off the night with a DIY mani-pedi. You’ll go to bed feeling relaxed and wake up the next day feeling refreshed and gorgeous for work. Read this article to find out why giving yourself a spa day could be the best thing for your career!

5. Allow some me-time

Set aside two hours before you go to bed to unplug from your computer, iPad and phone. Here’s how spending less time on your phone could make you more successful. Free your mind from any looming thoughts about the next day  and give yourself some me-time.

These are just a few of our favorites here at CGD HQ, but get creative with your Sundays.

I love relaxing on sundays; catching up on tv, reading, catching up with family members or meeting up with friends for coffee. But I like the idea of doing Sunday on Saturday, I might have to try that!
