Gyms are pricey, always rammed at the only time you are free to go, or somewhere that you just don’t feel confident entering. There are plenty of reasons that mean you can’t go (or, just don’t want to), but that doesn’t mean that you have an excuse not to workout.

There are heaps of ways for you to get your sweat on in the comfort of your own home, with pretty impressive results from doing so!

Here are 5 workouts that you can do when you get back home, in the morning or at the weekend (you can even stay in your pjs while you do so, win!).

Yoga

Not just for those dreamy girls traveling to remote islands on Instagram, yoga is a great exercise to strengthen your muscles with absolutely no equipment required.

From the ultimate yoga goddess Rachel Brathen (aka Yoga Girl) to the huge community of yogis on Instagram, there’s plenty of tutorials for you to follow just by searching #yogi.

HIIT

If you have had any engagement in the fitness world, you will be well aware of the benefits of HIIT. With fitness gurus like The Body Coach and Kayla Itsines constantly hyping about its essential role in fat loss, you can have circuits for you to complete in under 20 minutes with Joe (yep that really is all it takes!) or a breakdown of each body part to target with Kayla.

Kettlebell

Chances are that you don’t fancy kitting your room out as a gym (makeup sure takes up a lot of room, considering how small each piece is), but just one kettlebell can provide you with a full body workout. Try this 25-minute workout by BodyFit and you will realize just how much good a single weight can do.

Kickboxing

One of the many bonuses of exercise is that it’s a great way to destress. Kickboxing is the perfect way to relieve yourself of a bad day, whilst also being a great way for you to build strength (no it won’t make you bulky!). Even without any boxing equipment, boxing moves are brilliant at burning fat and also releasing that unwanted tension.

Dance

Exercise being fun has become a huge trend (thank goodness, who wants to workout if it’s boring anyway?). As a result, great ways to get fit such as Zumba has become available. Give it a go and you will find that you get fit without even realizing.

Now there are no more excuses for those extra few hours in bed, get up and go without even leaving your front door!

I love Yoga With Adrienne so I feel confident that I’ll like these other ones too. It’ll be a great way to get me feeling better about myself and building stamina before I put my running shoes on and join the multitudes of beautiful/perky NYC runners. Thanks!

And don’t forget burpees. They start out easy, but when I approach 10 of them my arms and tush begin to scream. Works upper and lower body as well as gets your heart ramped
