6 Incredible Movies You NEED To Watch This Year

There’s nothing we love more than cinema popcorn and a gigantic cup of our favourite fizzy drink. Cinema visits remind us of childhood dates and flocking to the screen with our friends to see something we’d been talking about for weeks. We need to appreciate the cinema more often for forcing people to sit quietly, without their phones, and focus on the experience of watching a great film. Here are six films we’re loving this year.

Jurassic Park

(7.5/10 IMDb)
What could possibly go wrong when you have a luxury resort dedicated to entertaining tourists with shows put on by extinct dinosaurs brought back to life? It smashed box office records when it was released and had zoo keepers everywhere taking imitation photographs with their animals, definitely one to watch this year. Oh, and it has Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in it…need we say more?

Pitch Perfect 2

(7/10 IMDb)
Since the success of Pitch Perfect, the girls are back and trying to win the world championships in Denmark, but when a scandal strips them of their performing duties they need to get their act together and try to claw their way back to the top. Watch this movie if you want feel-good laughs, girl power and great music.

(7.6/10 IMDb)
CIA analyst Susan Cooper (the hilarious Melissa McCarthy) has spent her entire career behind a desk. When her partner is assassinated by a Bulgarian arms dealer, she decides it’s time to get from behind the desk and land her first undercover assignment. McCarthy is in her element in this hilarious movie that puts an out of shape desk jockey back in the field and Jason Statham is the perfect co-star!

The Hunger Games Mockingjay: Part Two

(released November 2015)

The second part of the climactic Mockingjay movies sees Katniss leaving District 13 to liberate the citizens of war-torn Panem and assassinate President Snow. It’s well worth the wait, with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth reuniting on screen for a final time to finally bring an end to The Hunger Games.

Mad Max: Fury Road

(8.6/10 IMDb)
One of the great things about this Mad Max film is the cast, with Charlize Theron, Tom Hardy, Nicholas Hoult and Zoe Kravitz starring alongside each other, good things were bound to happen. A tyrant enslaves apocalypse survivors inside a desert fortress, forcing the warrior Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) to lead his five wives to their escape. She forges an alliance with Max (Tom Hardy) and they try to outrun the warlord and his henchmen through the apocalyptic wasteland. This might sound like an all-out action movie perfect for the men in your life but has been heralded as a great feminist movie thanks to its portrayal of women and the great female cast!

Inside Out

(9.1/10 IMDb)
Oh, how we love Pixar films. They never fail to deliver a sweet, sad and funny film perfect not just for families but for everyone! This movie focuses on the emotions inside 11-year-old Riley’s head as her parents move to San Francisco. But when Joy (Amy Poehler) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) are inadvertently swept into the far corners of Riley’s mind, only Anger, Fear and Disgust are left to guide her!

Have you got any movies you can’t wait to watch this year? We’re more than a little excited for the new all female Ghostbusters but we have to wait until 2016!

Absolutely looooved Inside Out, I felt like it was such a deep film? Oh Disney and Pixar make great movies. Mad Max was good, I loved the fact that women had important roles in it, but I don’t know about the plot, kinda cliché? So want to see Jurassic World!
