Almost everyone in this world wants to become successful in life but do we all have what it takes? And what do you actually need in order to be or become successful?
Whatever being successful means to you, we all know you have to work hard for it, it doesn’t come overnight and 9 out of 10 times, it doesn’t come easy.
Although ‘being successful’ is more a relative term and not easy to measure, there are some common characteristics all successful people have. So maybe you are already successful, or at least you are closer than you think.
#1 – You are committed & focused
Whatever you are committing to, commitment is very important. You need to be able to plan ahead and know that you will follow through. You need to eat, sleep, breathe your goal and the journey towards it.
Keeping your focus is another key element. Keep your end-goal as focus, but live now, be aware of the present and take the steps you need to take.
#2 – You have self-discipline
You know your goal and it doesn’t matter how many distractions there are, you stick to your plan. Sometimes it is difficult to miss out on all the fun things happening around you (and going to some of them is not a bad thing), but it will all be worth it in the end.
#3 – You think without a box
Every ‘ethical’ thing is a possibility to you. The sky is the limit and you don’t think in boxes or just outside of it, you simply don’t have a box.
#4 – You have good character
Building people up instead of bringing them down, you are not judgmental and just a nice person in general. Your success means nothing when you are not the nice person that people like to hang around with or work for.
#5 – Failing is an encouragement
You see failure as an encouragement and not as something you are afraid of in a negative way. It doesn’t stop you from trying new things and learning new skills. When you fail, you evaluate, learn from it and move on to the next big thing.
#6 – You crave knowledge
You love to learn news skills and are always craving to improve yourself. It doesn’t matter where the knowledge comes from, you always want to know more and be able to do more.

Great tips. I’m horrible at focusing; I want to accomplish too many things at once. Apart from that, I have everything it takes to be a successful career girl, haha :-)
I’d love to think I was working towards all 6 of these points! I’ve never struggled with number 6 though! I always want to learn more, it’s an addiction! x
