6 Tips For Perfect Yoga At Home

Yoga is a great way to start and finish your day, but if you’re strapped for time and can’t find the money to schedule a class, there is no better time to bring your yoga studio into your home.

So, how can you still do your sun salutation without the extra baggage? It’s about creating a great space and keeping to a timetable, even if it’s on the weekend. Here’s how we do it…

#1 Keep It Simple

If you’re a beginner in the world of yoga, keep it simple for the first few sessions. The beauty of yoga is that even doing two positions can become a workout, so don’t strain your muscles by trying some complicated until you’re experienced. There is an amazing app called Pocket Yoga that you can use as your own personal yoga trainer from home.

#2 Add It To Your Routine

If you want to incorporate yoga into your mornings, make a habit of adding it to your morning routine, maybe between your waking and morning shower. It’s the perfect way to center your thoughts and get ready for a busy day! Just make sure you set aside the right amount of time to do your yoga routine, even 15 minutes is enough!

#3 Create The Perfect Space

Invest in a good yoga mat, these beautiful starry night candles for $18 from Urban Outfitters are perfectly celestial to create a mood and make a mellow playlist on Spotify.

#4 Do It With A Friend

Arrange a girl’s night every week or so and include a mini yoga class from home. This can include breathing exercises, partner stretches or even a yoga challenge, which you can access on YouTube.

#5 YouTube Classes

Lacking inspiration? There are plenty of fitness bloggers online who film free classes or feature some yoga positions on their blogs. Yoga With Adriene is a great starting point, you can even do 30 days of yoga with her.

#6 No Distractions

Turn off your phone, move into a spare room and keep yourself focused. Yoga is about mindfulness and you can’t be mindful with your phone buzzing next to you.
