The sun is shining and it’s time to bring more positivity into your life. We are all capable of letting negativity bring us down, and the chances are, you’ll know how it feels to let a bad mindset ruin an otherwise good day.

With the right strategy, anything is possible, you just need to remind yourself that you are incredible and capable of achieving it. Bringing more positivity into your life isn’t a huge task, it requires a certain effort of thought and willingness to change.

There are ways to embrace positivity and start to see that even negative events can have positive outcomes. But you need to make a point to focus on positivity and being a positive person. Here are a few tips to help you embrace the positive and forget the negative…

1. Change ‘one day…’ into ‘day one’

This applies to everything in life. Everything you’ve been putting off with the promise of ‘one day…’ can be started right now. We all need a helping hand and a push in the right direction to stop procrastinating. It can be more comfortable to put things off but pushing yourself out of your comfort zone will help you be more positive and confident.

You can motivate yourself with a good fitness planner, like the Fit Is The Sh*t planner for example, and attach progress photos to every section to keep pushing yourself to make changes.

2. Plan your future

Working aimlessly with no big plans for the future can seriously dampen your positivity. While you might feel productive, if you have nothing to look forward to, and no real structure for how you want the future to look, you can easily get demotivated.

Sit down with a notebook and start planning your life. Where do you want to be in five years time? Ten years? And what steps do you need to take to get there? Do you want to buy a house? Be a founder of a company? Even little goals like your health, fitness, and wellbeing can go into your notebook and become a daily goal to work towards. You might decide you need to start saving now for a wedding in two years, or that you need to work out every day to create body goals.

3. Make your life run smoother

One thing that can dampen positivity is a lack of structure. Now you might not be the kind of person who loves a plan and swears by structure, but bringing some rigidity into your life can actually make it run smoother. You will feel much more stable and with the right plan, will have time for spontaneity that doesn’t feel chaotic.

Organising your day begins with a plan. But to truly structure your life, you need to ensure you’ve prepared your meals ahead of time, are drinking enough water, and are tracking all your daily habits and goals. The Getting Things Done planner will just make this so much easier because it already contains sections to fill in. You can write your plan for the day however you wish, and on the opposite page, track all those little things that make life easier. Save money by tracking your expenses, prepare your meals ahead of time, and remind yourself of the things you’re likely to forget.

4. Bring positivity to those around you

One way to bring more positivity into your life is to be the positive force for people around you. Make an effort to lift others up, and go out of your way to do favors for people without the expectations of anything in return. At first, it might feel like an effort to lift others up, even when you feel negative yourself. But, after a while, it will become like second nature.

Forcing a smile can make you feel happier, and in the same vein, forcing yourself to be a sunnier more positive person will have an effect on your mindset.
