Wondering what the best routine for sleep is? We often write about night-time routines, because sleep is by far the most important thing in a Career Girl’s life, next to food and exercise. Treating your body right requires getting enough downtime to recover and recuperate, your brain needs to process the day, so you need to get the best sleep of your life.
But we know, too, that it’s easier said than done. The most ambitious women often have the most insane night time routines. Taking work to bed? Staying awake thinking? Sound familiar? If you don’t have time to overhaul your habits, try this quick 3-step night-time routine. Thank us later!
Step 1:
Get ready for the next day
Start your evening by preparing for the next day so you won’t have to think about it later. Lay out your clothes, pack your bag, and prepare your breakfast and lunch. It might seem like a lot of effort in the evening, but it might even spare you a few extra hours in bed! I even make a quick to-do list in my notebook before I pack it into my rucksack, so I know when I’m asleep I won’t be mentally tallying up what I need to do. Yes, this is the best routine for sleep.
Step 2:
Do some yoga and light stretches
We’re not talking about a full routine that requires a sports bra and all. Some gentle evening stretches will help. Stretch your arms up to the ceiling and then try to touch your toes, roll your shoulder blades around your back. Relax. Of course, if you want to do a full routine, you should try this 20-minute yoga for bedtime routine.
