What’s standing in the way of your success right now? Whatever it is, it’s a block that you’ve put on yourself. You are the answer to the question of whether you can do it. You just need to put your mind to it and make a plan that works. If you want to plan your day for success, you’re going to need a simple plan that really works. The Goals 2019 Diary is now back in stock, and if you’re looking to simplify your daily tasks and to-dos, you’re in for a treat.
1. CHOOSE THE RIGHT TOOL
Before we get into the time management tips, it’s worth mentioning that you need to have the right tools to make planning easier for you. There are two tools that I think are necessary to help manage your time well: a calendar and a to-do list. The Goals 2019 Diary combines both to allow you to plan out your day, while looking at your week, month, and the year at a glance. You can also plan your day by the hour, so you’ll be making the most of your time.
Getting the right tool is the first step, it will make your life so much easier and help you get on the way to a successful day. You need a good calendar and planner to get yourself organized, to see all your deadlines in advance and to make the right plan for a successful day.
2. SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE
When you have five or ten minutes, you need to create a daily plan. Do this by writing down deadlines and plans for the month in your calendar, first. You need to see the bigger picture to allow you to decide what’s taking a priority. Write down those important deadlines for the month, days you’re away, holidays, training days and more.
If you try to accomplish too many things you’ll get burnt out, so the simplest way to cut through a complicated daily schedule is to simply look ahead. Look to the future, plan on a larger scale. Start by looking at the macro of what you want to achieve, and then go into the micro. For example, you know you have a deadline in two weeks, what are you doing now to hit that deadline? Have you planned your content for the next four weeks? Stay ahead so that you can break down the day-to-day things.
3. SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF
The fact that the Goals 2019 Diary has an hourly section for each week means that you can finally stay on track with your priorities, be realistic, and stick to the time frame for the day. First, look at your day from morning to evening and fill out the hourly blocks, deciding what you’re trying to achieve every step of the way. You want to have the most successful day, right? So you need to use your time wisely. You need to decide what you’re doing in the morning before work, what you’ve spent your first hour on, and how you’re going to make sure you use every hour of the day for what it’s intended.
The Goals 2019 Diary works perfectly in sync with the Getting Stuff Done planner, while you’ve planned out your entire year, the important dates of the month, and blocked out the hours of the day, you can go into the finer points of your day in the Getting Stuff Done planner, adding self-care, and ticking off those longer-term to-dos.
