“You need to work smarter…”
When I heard this at first, I wasn’t totally sure what it meant. I thought to myself, you are working smart and surely the measure of good work was working hard.
However, it’s a common misconception. You think you can measure your work by how busy you are, and how much you’re working. But actually, working smart means you’ll be working better, not harder. It’s about being smarter with your tasks so you can be more productive. But getting into this way of thinking takes time – but don’t worry, we can help with that…
Don’t Go Unprepared
First of all, you have to be innovative and be ready to think outside the box.
If your process of doing a task is too slow, think of what you can do to speed it up and be more effective.
It’s really important to use the right tools. No successful career girl goes in unprepared.
Take it like this for example, if you want to get more customers in your business, don’t spend all your time developing new products. Stop. Target those people and educate yourself on growth first.
Choose Your Tools Wisely
Using an app or a management program to use your time wisely is a good thing, but it’s not a good thing if you haven’t got the one right for you. Otherwise, it could be a complete waste of your time.
The trick to knowing when you’ve got one that works for you is if it actually saves you time. It needs to be simple and effective.
Like monday.com for example, it’s super simple to use and helps you manage and communicate with your team easily. But, it’s also great if you’re doing a project by yourself.
It helps you keep track of every step and even lets you change the status of your task.
But in bigger teams, it’s easy to assign tasks and see where your team is with their individual tasks.
Measure Your Progress
In order to manage yourself and your time better you need to know if you’re using it correctly. If it comes to the end of the week and you’re still struggling to get everything done then you know it hasn’t worked for you.
