Travelling can be stressful, once you’ve sorted out your documents and repacked your bag three times there’s hardly enough time to think about your beauty regime. Packing all your makeup in your suitcase can be risky too, as I found out when the airline lost my suitcase, and nobody wants to be digging around in their bag for huge pots of cream and fiddly brushes in the middle of their travels.
Whether you’re embarking on a long-haul flight, roughing it up at a festival or even trekking through a jungle you need your beauty essentials to be sturdy and follow you wherever we go, so here’s our guide to the best beauty products for any journey!

#1 Skin care
You don’t want to leave your skin without hydration when you’re travelling, so it’s important to shop around and find a miniature version of your favourite creams. Some good suggestions are Nivea ‘Mini Soft Moisturising Cream’, Clinique ‘Superdefense SPF 20 Daily Defense Moisturizer’, and Johnsons ’24hr Moisturising Lotion’ in travel size.
#2 Hair
Dry shampoo is an essential for any girl who knows she won’t be able to regularly wash her hair or anyone who just wants to add a bit of volume to their look, luckily Batiste now do mini versions of their products, which each come in a variety of delightful scents. There’s only so much dry shampoo you can use though, so when you need a good wash, miniature shampoos like this one from Tresemmé will see you through.

#3 Face
Most foundations are okay to travel with, but if you’re looking for something easy to take out for a quick touch up, your normal concealer should be small and light enough to take with you. A good one for high coverage in place of foundation is Benefit’s Boi-ing.
#4 Eyes
Look for miniature eyeshadow palettes to take with you, preferably with a built in mirror so you have one less thing to pack. A favourite of mine is this one by NYX, which comes in three different colour combos and has a built in lip gloss. Miniature mascara is sometimes harder to get your hands on, and usually comes as part of a set or as a sample, my favourite at the moment is the miniature YSL ‘Baby Doll’ mascara that you can get free with a regular sized version from Debenhams.

#5 Eyebrows
Okay, we all know how important eyebrows are and this was the one thing I seriously worried about when I went on holiday, because I knew I’d be spending a lot of time in the pool. But this waterproof brow pen from Stila works absolute wonders, it won’t run off if you submerge your head under water and it’s great for giving your brows a little colour.
I hope these recommendations will help you all to embrace your wanderlust and go forth with the confidence to climb into tight spaces and dive into deep seas. In the meantime don’t forget to enter the two fabulous giveaways we’re running at the moment for a chance to win some Chanel lippy, a copy of #Girlboss and a pair of incredible Kenzo Espadrilles!
