Bleach Your Hair? This Purple Shampoo Will Change Your Life

Trust me, I know the perils of going blonde. From broken ends to yellow tones, there are so many warning tales about lightening your hair, but what if I told you the secret to having healthy blonde hair came in a bottle you can buy at just about any store for a price that absolutely doesn’t break the bank? If your hair is bleached, highlighted, silver or yellow read on!

Healthy blonde hair made easy

Thanks to the Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Tone Correcting Shampoo & Conditioner by John Frieda, your bleached or lightened hair can be renewed every time you have a shower. If you’re looking for that ‘after salon’ feeling you should definitely try this range. It’s great for all varieties of blonde from yellow to silver and helps to correct any pigments in your hair that are dull, brassy or too yellow.

Embrace the purple

It can be strange at first to squeeze a big dollop of purple shampoo out into your hand, but purple is the exact opposite of yellow and therefore helps to cool any vibrant yellow tones. The John Frieda range isn’t too intimidating as the purple is actually not too dark (so you can avoid staining the bath tub!) and rest assured that your colour will be easily maintained, brightened and restored.

Lather and rinse

I rely on this shampoo and conditioner to neutralise those yellow tones that creep up every so often, what you should do is lather the shampoo from root to tip (or on the highlighted areas) and leave it on for 5 minutes if you notice a large amount of yellow or your blonde hair isn’t the desired tone. Follow up with the conditioner, which will help to hydrate and nourish your hair while sealing in the colour, and then rinse for beautiful, glossy locks.

Does it really work?

A few people I talked to were skeptical about using purple shampoo and conditioner and wondered if it would actually work. There are tonnes of purple shampoos and conditioners on the market, but you can trust that the John Frieda range won’t turn your hair purple and will do exactly what it says on the box. Don’t get me wrong I’ve tried other purple shampoos and I genuinely think the best thing you can do for your bleached hair is use a purple shampoo, but the John Frieda range is my favourite right now. Everything from the packaging to the smell of the shampoo and conditioner is perfect. It’s lightweight, easy to use and people will think you visit the salon more than once a week!
