How Being Too Busy Can Make You Less Successful

We all know those busy people, rushing around, looking important. But are they busy…achieving nothing? Being manically busy is draining and can mean you’re not giving the tasks at hand the proper care and attention they should be getting. If you work in a crazy busy office, find out here how to stay focused and on top of your game. Below, are the tell-tale signs that you are too busy and you should avoid!

1.

Are you exhausted?

You may be working ridiculously hard and putting countless hours in, but you could be actually doing yourself damage. If you need a little pick-me-up, these energy hacks will keep you going!

2.

Are you struggling to take time for yourself?

Get the work-life balance! Only with proper rest, will you come to your work with a clear head, full of fresh ideas, and be at the top of your game. So, make sure to add space in your life to pick up a book, go for a walk, or enjoy a hobby! Here’s how you can start making the most of your time after work. Making a conscious decision to let go of a frantic way will make you work harder – when the time comes!

3.

Can you never get on top of your tasks?

When you’re too busy, you don’t think straight and mistakes are much more likely to happen. If you always feel like you’re playing catch-up with your tasks, think about changing the ways you organize yourself to be the best and most efficient worker. Lists are a great tool to order your tasks, here’s why you should use them!

4.

Are you constantly feeling stressed out?

There is a peak amount of stress. When the adrenaline is pumping and you’re getting loads of work done. Then, there’s too much stress, which will make you burn out. If you are feeling under too much pressure, ask for help! Speak to your manager or mentor, and they will hopefully understand and give you support.

Being successful isn’t about running yourself into the ground because no-one will thank you when you’re ill and shattered. Success is about prioritizing yourself, recognizing when you need support and a good work-life balance. If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then change it up – be busy, but not too busy!

  1. So important to remember! At uni, I feel like everyone is competing to be the busiest and the most stressed, because in most peoples’ minds that equates to success. Good reminder to look after yourself first.
