Instagram is the holy grail of social networking, brand building and the whereabouts of who’s who. So who are the most powerful women on this social platform? And what can we learn from them? Well, we have some insights from a few obvious players, but we have also included some power players you should be following in no particular order.
1. Taylor Swift
Has taken the reigns as the most followed woman on Instagram. @taylorswift is building bridges in the music industry with crossovers from country to pop and hip hop so her photos of new and old celebrity friends and her genuine love for them makes us eager to see what she posts next. Not to mention her “Bad Blood” video was just badass.
She’s a ball of inspiration and is always on the search for something greater than self. But @oprah also brings us along for the journey as she picks veggies from the garden on her farm (who knew) and cooks up some delectable holiday meals. Hmmm, do we see a cooking show in the making?
The Beyhive is ever so fierce and private. But that doesn’t stop the voyeurs (like you and me) who can’t get enough of her road tour video, style, travel excursions and her family. @beyonce says, “You can have it all. I do”.
4. Michelle Obama
The FLOTUS hits our list because, umm she is the First Lady. However, we get a glimpse into the First Ladies busy schedule one speaking engagement, dinner party, cause and photo shoot at a time. Wait, who are we kidding here, we love her page because we are waiting to see which vintage designer gown she will be wearing to the next gala, @michelleobama.
5. Kim Kardashian
@kimkardashian has jaw dropping threads and flawless makeup looks. The self-confessed selfie queen knows how to strike a pose, and on Instagram selfies draw the crowd. Therefore, if you want to know how to perfect your selfie, we suggest a @kimkardashian Instagram feed tutorial.
6. Sheryl Sandberg
The COO of Facebook uses her account to champion women to Lean In. @sherylsandberg has a nice platform giving a strong voice of empowering women from the offices of Facebook.
7. Ivanka Trump
Another woman who shows us you can have it all, a great husband, beautiful kids, a successful fashion brand, and a major social life. No matter what you think of her father (Donald Trump), @ivankatrump means business even on a casual day – did you know when she’s by the pool her reads are Harvard Business Review and the Economist? I think we love her even more, now.
8. Selena Gomez
If you don’t look at Selena’s feed and dream of living her life, then what is Instagram for? Besides her uber cool selfies and adorable baby shots, @selenagomez is said to be the most engaging celebrity on Instagram. She is known for personally responding to a few of her follower comments and we love that!
9. Arianna Huffington
Follow globe trekking founder of Huffington Post with beautiful scenic photos of her travels, along with loads of inspirational quotes that speak to her self-awareness and the importance of sleep. @ariannahuff, sleep? There is such thing (as I write this post at midnight…yawn!).
10. Malala Yousafzai
Ok so it’s not Malala’s personal account but @malalafund is a great account to follow if you want to keep up to date with everything that Malala’s been up to, from cute photographs of her cuddling her father in the back of a car to important videos and photographs that highlight the importance of the Malala fund and Malala’s continued efforts to bring education to women all over the world!
