There are some girls who can make bargain-bin finds look like designer splurges. The secret to such an amazing style isn’t magic: It’s knowing how to spot the design details that make clothes seem cheap — and the ones that make them look way more expensive than they are.

#1 Replace cheap plastic buttons
The ultimate stylist tip! Replace cheap buttons with more expensive looking buttons. You can find amazing and affordable ones on Etsy.
#2 Choose a simple bag without too much hardware
It is difficult to make cheap embellishment look more expensive. A simple bag like Miss Guided’s Iwona Oversized Shopper Bag or this Fiorelli Kirsten bag from ASOS is a better choice. In this case less is definitely more. I would say if there’s one thing a girl needs to invest in it’s a handbag but if you’re on a budget try to keep this tip in mind.
#3 Buy cheap pumps in faux suede
Fake suede appears in most cases much more expensive than fake leather. Miss Guided has some really nice fake suede pumps and flats in their collection like these cute cut out heeled sandals from Miss Guided or these super affordable pair of heels from ASOS
#4 -Invest in a steamer
This tip is life saving! A good steamer like this one removes wrinkles in a couple seconds and saves you a lot of time in the morning. You can
#5 Know your fabrics
You can fake style, fabric you cannot. Cheap fabric is always obvious. Stay away from anything that’s more than 20 percent synthetic. Tweed, linen and cotton are materials that often seem more expensive. Have a look at H&M Trend( I absolutely love this turtleneck dress) or & Other Stories they have amazing and affordable items in their collection that will survive the washing machine more than once.
#6 Bring your items to a tailor
If you buy something in the store the fit isn’t always right. Make your clothes look more expensive and bring them to a tailor. It is absolutely worth it.
#7 Get it in black
Another way to make your clothes look more expensive is your choice of color. Black is the perfect color to look slim but also hides other cheap-looking signs. This super cute Topshop Dress looks more expensive in black. This little black dress is also on top of my wishlist this season!
#8 – Get stains out as soon as you can
Treat a stain while it’s fresh. To avoid traditional stain removers (which can be harmful for both humans and clothing) try some alternatives like vinegar and baking soda.
#9 – Take care of your footwear
Treat your shoes every now and then with a major cleaning and replace the heels. Nothing is worse than worn or broken heels.
#10 – Invest in accessories
Try to invest in fabulous sunglasses like these amazing classic round frames from Illesteva, a beautiful watch(check out Larsson & Jennings, they have the most beautiful affordable watches) , a pretty designer bag like the Saint Laurent camera bag or amazing shoes like these cute Charlotte Olympia’s. These beauties will upgrade your outfit in a sec.
