Pinterest is so much more than just an image sharing tool! You can use it to connect with other people who love collecting similar images, promote your blog and business and learn a trick or two! We’ve learned a lot from browsing the beauty section of Pinterest, including a few easy to do and brilliant beauty hacks, so here’s our round-up of the top basic beauty hacks we found that are easy to do at home!

#1 Line your eyes and curl your lashes at the same time!

This tip has been floating around Pinterest for a while, but thanks to this graphic we can finally understand what all the fuss is about! Lazy girls rejoice, if done properly you can get two jobs done at once!

THE VERDICT: It takes a few tries to master, as it can leave you with either a line that’s too thin or a little too smudged, but it’s great for a natural eye line that you can add a flick too afterwards.

#2 Apply your concealer in a triangle shape!

I heard this one from a lovely girl working at the Benefit counter when I popped into my local department store. Fast forward a few weeks and Pinterest is blowing up with the same idea, applying concealer in a triangle shape under your eyes is better for hiding dark circles!

THE VERDICT: I won’t go back to smudging it in a vaguely half moon shape now, as someone who struggles with tired looking eyes, I need all the help I can get. This technique blends better and the product doesn’t sit only under your eyes which actually makes your bags more prominent.

#3 The perfect Barbie ponytail

You only need two hair bands to get a quick and cute ponytail! Simply create a small ponytail high up on your head, and another one just beneath it. Voilà! A fashionable and flirty hairstyle in under five minutes! Check out the video here.

THE VERDICT:
I don’t really like having my hair up, I feel a little vulnerable without my locks resting on my shoulders, but I have to admit this look is effortless and cute. I’m going to wear my hair like this for the gym from now on, as I like the way it swings behind me and makes my hair look thicker!

#4 Easy half-moon nails

With negative space nails being super trendy this season, we need all the help we can get to master this technique! Luckily, a super easy hack that’s been floating around Pinterest involves only a few stickers and a bit of patience! Hello trendy nails!

THE VERDICT: I am awful at painting my nails, but this wasn’t so difficult and actually looked cute! I’m going to take a bit more time to practise, what I’ve learned so far is to make sure the nail polish is dry enough to remove the sticker (so you don’t pull the whole thing off) and go over any messy bits with a cotton bud dipped in nail varnish remover!

#5 Super quick hair drying

This trick has been on Pinterest for ages, swap your towel for a t-shirt and be amazed at how much faster your hair dries. All you need is a tee you don’t mind getting soaked, and a little optimism and this technique will speed up your hair routine forever!

THE VERDICT: It turns out a t-shirt actually is more absorbent than a towel! As long as you have one big enough for your hair, that you don’t mind soaking and stretching a bit, your hair will lose moisture quicker and you can move on to more important things, like painting your toenails.
