A safe country in the middle of conflict. Jordan is a beautiful and welcoming country with many things to see and do. The rich history of this country makes that we still can enjoy a bit of the past today and with Petra, one of the seven world wonders, this country is definitely a must see.

Probably the hottest holiday destination for most Western countries, UAE. With Dubai as the main hotspot. Most of us have been there or know people who have visited this beautiful city. The palm shaped island, aquarium and the Burj Khalifa are just a few of the things to see and do.

One hour drive you find Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, that has one of the most beautiful Mosque’s in the world, definitely a must visit.

#4 -Morocco

Marrakesh

Although in Africa, in terms of culture this country belongs to Arab countries. Morocco is a one of the countries that becomes more and more popular by year. A lot of celebs already discovered this gem, and buy houses in beautiful cities like Marrakesh. Visit the Souks, the colorful markets with lots of pure products, fruits and Moroccan jewelry. I was initially excited to see you had a Middle East themed travel article only to realize you repeatedly make the mistake of calling them “Arabic” countries. The countries are correctly called “Arab,” the language is “Arabic” and the horses “Arabian.”

Please please please update the article to reflect these changes. To leave it as is would be offensive.

Oh please! Dont speak for others, I am an Arab living in the UK and I am not offended by it. Both Arab and Arabic are considered to be correct, however writing Arabic countries does make me cringe a little, but I am not offended and I am sure neither are most Arabs.

What Cassandra may mean is that people in the U.S. are often seen by other countries as ethnocentric, and that comes off as ignorance when we don’t demonstrate even a basic understanding of terms used to describe other regions and cultures. I, for one, appreciate the info. Thanks, Cassandra!

These girls arent even American, they are Dutch i think which makes perfect sense since in Dutch there is just one word which is Arabic. So they probably just literally translated it from Dutch. Still needs to be correct, but has nothing to do with American ignorance, just not very well translated.

Thanks Chantal. Actually, not the entire CGD team is Dutch. The founders are Dutch and the rest of the team is British ;)
We didn’t want to offend anyone. Your comments are important to us and we have updated the article.

So fun! I am an Anerican blogger, hotelier and designer living in Marrakech. I wanted to just quickly point out two things: 1) Morocco is originally Berber (Amazigh) not Arab. Today the country is very much a Berber/Arab mix. 2) the Summer is not a good time to come to any of these countries because it’s super hot! But beautiful the other months of the year.

Thanks so much for pointing out these beautiful countries and keep up the good work!

I get Cassandra point and agree that things places and people should be referred to in correct terms for sake of clarity and furthering knowledge and enriching our culture.
