These Quick Tips Will Help You Get Your Life Together

@meganadelaide

You are not alone. Everyone has some difficulties getting it together from time to time. But know that those people DO bounce back, and DO become stronger, better people because of it.

And that’s exactly what’s going to happen to you today – right now in fact! So, do you have five minutes?

Because you’re about to say goodbye to the old you, who felt lost, and are going to instead, say hello the newer, braver you, who is going to smash every goal.

And here’s how you’re gonna do it:

1. Get close, personal and honest

You need to realize and accept that things go wrong. It happens, and it happens to all of us! Because throughout your life, you won’t just experience this the once.

And it’s not just about trying to forget about it and move on. It’s a little more complex than that.

What we find really works best is the process of writing things down. Ok, your business might have failed, your project or even your dream. But the one way that will help you to get over that is by expressing yourself.

So, get it all down on paper. You don’t have to publish it or even share it, it’s your page that will highlight to you where it all went wrong and why.

2. Dust yourself off and get back out there

Failing sucks. When something doesn’t go exactly to plan it can really throw your life into disarray. But, the longer you wait to dust yourself off the harder it will be for you to bounce back – trust me.

Remember, success doesn’t come easy. Every successful woman looks back on her life and sees the failures, but how she used them to get ahead.

When you’re going through failure, your brain actually works more creatively as it tries to come up with solutions and ideas. So, use this new-found inspiration and ideas to maybe try something new.

Get back to the drawing board and work it out! Remember, you’re the only person who can do it.

3. Take back control

Usually, when one thing goes wrong, everything in your life tends to do the same. It’s like a domino effect. That’s why it’s super easy to just let go and lose control.

But that doesn’t need to happen. And the only way you’ll get your life back on track is by taking hold of the reins again and getting yourself reorganized.

To do this you should create the ultimate list of all the areas in your life that need sorting. Once this list is finished you’ll be able to see clearly what you need to do next and that’s where an action plan comes in.

4. Create an action plan that makes you want to ACT

It’s very easy to make an action plan.

But, very rarely do we actually do half the things we plan to do. And that needs to change. That’s why it’s important to have the correct tools that will inspire you to make the jump.

An action plan on one sheet of A4 for example, won’t inspire you to go out there. That same piece of paper can be lost, damaged or even thrown away.

Getting Things Done Planner available here

You want an action planner like the Getting Things Done Planner. It will help you to get your shit together by training you to look at your day-to-day and prompts you to start taking things more seriously.

You’ll be able to focus on your high priority todos, whilst being reminded to drink more water and being encouraged to keep track of what you’re putting into your body.

5. It’s not just about your career, it’s about you

Let me guess, things have gotten a little messy before and you find yourself again still trying to get it all together? Don’t worry, life isn’t as black and white as we make it out to be.

You may already know the areas where you need to improve in work, but if you’re not happy with yourself first you’ll never be able to get your life back together. And you can better yourself by improving and learning new skills.

Use programs like Skillshare to take that next step. You’ll be building your confidence and your knowledge, which will make you unstoppable.

That journey starts with you. There can be many different factors that make you feel like you don’t recognize your life anymore, so we simply put to you to go out and create the life you want.

Get rid of the people who don’t give two shits about you, aim to make your familial relationships stronger, do what you need to do to make yourself happy and just do it.

6. Work on your emotional health

Your emotional health is one of the most important factors that determine whether you’ll be able to do something or not.

It’s all about self-belief, if you don’t believe you can’t do something then you won’t do it, simple as that. But if you start believing you can and hold onto that then chances are you will smash it.

So take care of your emotional health, and do it by being around the people who you know love you. Appreciate them for all they are and the support they bring to your life. Allow yourself this comfort and support because it will push you into success.

Remember, only positive people should be included in your life. Because if you’re not laughing, you’re not happy.

7. Be realistic

Finances are one of the easiest things to get out of control and get out of control fast. And suddenly all of your hopes of savings fly out the window and stress and panic rush at you.

But whenever it gets like this just slow it all down. You won’t be able to think straight if you’re panicking or stressing about it all. You need to be calm, strategic, logical and most of all REALISTIC.

And it’s actually easier than you think. Especially these days where your finances can be taken care of with apps like Yolt, Mint, or Spending Daily Tracker.

My fav is Yolt because I feel like I’m the one in control and not just the app. I set the budgets, the categories and I can monitor and change my spending habits across all my accounts.

8. Think ahead

The most common problem amongst us is that we can all be late due to unexpected delays outside of our control.

Whether it’s because of delays with the tube, traffic or you’ve fallen over on your way to work (been there) you need to be more prepared.

Things like this can happen all of the time, and this is something you already know. So, begin to start planning for these things. Leave earlier to your appointments than you usually would so if anything gets in your way you still won’t be late!

So, get yourself your own Personal Assistant and download Any.Do to make sure you’re never late for an appointment ever, ever again!

9. Stick to your planned routine

Did you plan on dieting this week? Was it supposed to start Monday? Did you stick to it?

We know that it’s super easy to not stick to your plans, especially when you make easy excuses for yourself. For example, your excuse this week for not eating right was because you forgot to do a food shop, which means takeaways were a must!

Put a stop to all of that right now! Be more organized and more prepared. Download Eat This Much, an app that will help you plan your meals ahead of time and will even let you rate them. Or, if you’re really that bad then try Hello Fresh, and have your meals delivered to your door every week.

10. Make your surroundings the place you want it to be

Trust me, when your home is your vision and you’ve decorated it to how you like then you will much more together.

Your surroundings play a big part in affecting your mood, so it’s really important that you use them to boost it.

And it’s super simple. All you have to do is spend some energy creating this space. I would make sure to add in a lot of greenery and flowers to breathe some fresh air into your home, and even use mirrors to brighten and lighten the space, and cushions to make it feel cozy.

Take it the extra mile by even building and adding a wall of positivity. This can grow as you grow, but use it to display your life, your accomplishments and all the things that make you smile!
