11 Goals Every Woman Should Set Herself In 2019

@nicolewarne

There are goals every woman should set in 2019. And even though the year is flying by (there are only a few months left!) there’s still time to set yourself some simple goals and see them through, whether you use the last few months of the year to achieve them or you extend these goals into 2020.

It’s also a good opportunity to think ahead about your goals for next year. How are you going to push yourself harder in 2020 and realize the goals you’ve set for yourself? Here are a few ideas of goals every woman should set themselves next year. Start now and you’ll be well on the way to becoming your best self in 2019.

1. BECOME MORE DISCIPLINED

If you want to achieve anything, you need to become more disciplined. That means you need to start giving yourself strict deadlines and sticking to them. The best way to do that is to plan ahead, you can use the Goals 2019-2020 Diary which was specifically designed to help you plan your life in more depth.

Start with the monthly overview and mark all your important dates and deadlines, that’s often not enough for keeping you on track though, which is why the in-depth daily overviews will help you remember to stick to those deadlines and plan your day hour by hour.

2. TRAVEL MORE

Next year should all be about seeing the world as often as you possibly can. You don’t need to travel far, you can travel to places you’d never thought of visiting and still have your mind blown. Grow and develop into a more well-rounded person by seeing different perspectives. Travel not only broadens the mind, but it’ll also help you to relax, unwind, and see more of the world than you thought possible. Why not use your next weekend to visit the next town over or go on a train journey?

3. LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE

Start learning a new language. With daily practice, this should be easier than ever. Choose a language that might help further your goals, have a look at what the most in-demand languages are right now and give them a go. You’re not going to be perfect from day one, but in 365 days who knows where you could be?

4. TURN YOUR WEAKNESSES INTO STRENGTHS

This year you might have become aware of one weakness that you have, and you’ll need to take that weakness and turn it around next year. Figure out how to use your weakness to become a better version of yourself, to do things smarter and to get ahead.

You might want to try making a list of all the things you’ve learned about yourself so far this year, the Make It Happen notebook is perfect for these lists, write them down and keep them with you, thinking about how you’re going to build on that and improve yourself constantly.

5. HAVE A SAVINGS GOAL

It’s time to start saving for something big. Whether it’s a vacation, a designer bag, or a mortgage downpayment. Make a commitment to yourself and stick to your budget. You’ll be surprised at what can happen when you commit to it for even just a few months of the year and will be able to treat yourself with what you truly want once the year is over.

6. FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS

Whatever your dream might be, this is the time to follow it. Whether it’s starting a business, learning a skill, putting on a show, follow it and commit yourself to it fully.

Don’t get too comfortable in the last few months of the year, push yourself hard and constantly try to go for what you really want. You might want to start the year by making a note of your goals every single month in your Goals 2019-2020 Diary, this way you’ll never forget what you want to be working on.

7. GET IN SHAPE

You might already be there, but why not step it up a notch in the last few months of the year. Follow your fitness goals and stick to them, because you only get one body and by next year, you should already be treating it right. Give yourself the love you deserve and look after yourself by working out and eating right. You’ll thank yourself later.

8. READ MORE

To help you develop, you need to read more. Read widely, too, don’t just stick with one genre. Read biographies, historical fiction, magazines about science. You need to read as many things as you possibly can. Get some new opinions, read unpopular opinions, get under the skin of someone you hate. This is a good way to improve your empathy for others and your conversation skills, too.

9. GO OFFLINE

It’s really important to go offline every so often. Turn off your WI-FI if you have to. Force yourself to detox from the internet after work, in the evenings, and sometimes at the weekends.

Step away from the constant noise and comparison just for a few nights a week and you’ll feel a lot happier and more relaxed when you switch off and focus on real life.

10. CREATE A CHAIN

Create a chain for yourself to make sure you actually achieve everything you put your mind to. There’s a popular method that says if you do one small thing every single day for 30 minutes, you will be amazed at the progress you’ll make. Maybe this year you overcomplicated your goals, maybe you need to take it back to basics. Work out every day for 30 minutes a day. Write 30 minutes of your novel a day.

Study a new language for 30 minutes a day. Committing to one thing every day and creating a chain will help you smash your goals faster. Mark each day in your Goals Diary and don’t break the chain.

11. BE CONFIDENT

Confidence is quiet, insecurities are loud – or so they say. In the last few months of the year, learn to be more confident in your own skin. Learn to do things your way and be comfortable with your own decisions. It takes some time, some quiet reflection, and some trust in yourself.

Push yourself to do one thing that scares you next year, this will help build that confidence up. The more things you do that force you to go out of your comfort zone, the better.
