Everyone has big goals at the beginning of a new year, and most of the time, one way or another, it involves becoming more successful. It’s not all about how much money you earn, but according to a new study, the more you burn, the more you earn!

So could exercise be the key to success?

1. It’s the one thing most successful people have in common

If you look at data on business leaders from Barack Obama to Arianna Huffington, the one thing they have in common is that they make time to exercise after waking up. That’s because exercise gives you clarity and allows you to focus better on the demands of the day, as people become more successful they realize that the time they spend exercising is sacred and necessary to make tough decisions!

2. People who earn more, burn more

The study asked 850 people to input their earnings and weekly exercise onto an interactive system, to understand whether earnings are affected by exercise and vice versa, and their findings might surprise you. They found a clear correlation between earnings and exercise, showing that the more someone earns, they more active a person is likely to be. Maybe because they have more money to spend on resources, or because they have more responsibilities. So when your considering how to get that promotion, or negotiate that pay rise, consider if you could fit a few extra workouts into your week.

3. Exercise boosts your brain power

Exercise is well known to give you more energy, but it can also help you focus and can have amazing long-term benefits too, as research suggests that exercise helps to prevent the natural slow down of brain cell production as we get older. It also helps you to deal with stress, as your mind focuses on other things. If you want to make better decisions and improve your work performance you should try to get up earlier and fit in thirty minutes to an hour of exercise every day!
