7 Happiness Hacks To Overcome The Post Summer Blues

@amaka.hamelijnck

Looking for some happiness hacks to help you get your summer glow back? Don’t worry, you are not the only one who has post-summer blues. The summer went by so fast and all of the sudden it’s less than a hundred days until Christmas. I’m going to give you my hacks on how to overcome those post-summer blues and feel zen, happy, and positive for the next few months.

1. Use a planner

Sometimes it can get overwhelming going back to your old routine. I find it helps to write everything down. Every task and chore. I like to sit down on a Sunday evening and plan my whole week. My favorite planner is the Getting Stuff Done Planner it helps me to plan my day and look after myself, boosting my happiness and helping me be my best self!

2. Make plans

Make plans with your friends or yourself that you can look forward to! It can be a spa date, going out for drinks or just going out to get your favorite cup of coffee. Trust me life is so much more fun if you have something to look forward to.

3. Exercise

@cgdlondon

Endless studies have shown that exercising does make you happier. When you exercise your body releases endorphins, which trigger a positive feeling in your body. That doesn’t mean that you have to run 5k everyday. You can simply take a 20 minute walk, with your favorite podcast! If like me you enjoy logging your progress then the Fit Is The S*hit planner from CGD London is worth a try! Being able to log different exercises and meals makes it super easy to stay on track.

4. Make your apartment or bedroom fall ready

One of my favorite things about fall is staying in, under a warm blanket with my favorite candle lit and watching a good movie. Do what you can to make your apartment or bedroom cozy. It doesn’t have to be a lot, just buy your favorite candle or put up fairy lights.

5. Do a wardrobe makeover

Get rid of your old clothes, you can sell them online or give them to a charity. Put your summer clothes in storage. Trust me it will do wonders, you can find your clothes easily and it saves you a lot of time when you are choosing an outfit.

6. Find a new hobby

Try to take up a new hobby or start spending more time on your favorite hobby. Learn a new instrument, start knitting, painting or baking, whatever you want. There are so many things that you can do and you never regret spending time on your hobby.

7. Make time for ‘me time’

Don’t forget to make time for yourself and do what makes you happy. Disconnect, get rid of all distractions and read a book, take a bath or just play your favorite music. I promise you if you do that everyday just for 20 minutes you will feel much happier! My favourite way to unwind is to sit and spend some time journaling. I would highly recommend the Stress Less journal. It’s focus towards tracking your mood and daily habits makes this little book perfect for some me time.

I hope you will use some of these hacks. Let me know what your favourite hack is to overcome the Post-Summer Blues.
