Because I’m obsessed with my job, working around the clock is natural for me. It’s something that I want to do. Successful women felt exactly the same, and probably still do. It’s so easy to let one hour slide into five when you love what you do. So to maintain their balance they give just as much time and attention to developing hobbies as they do their career.
Growing up, I would freeze when someone asked me about my hobbies. I couldn’t help but try and search for a “cool” answer because I felt my hobbies were insufficient. I didn’t dance or rock climb. Instead, I simply liked to read and write for my downtime. It’s what always worked for me. But I was never really comfortable showing that off until recently.
Your hobbies are what make you who you are. They’re the things you enjoy and more importantly the things that help you wind down after a difficult day or week. I’ve been inspired by the hobbies successful women make time for every day, they know it grounds them and gives them a bit of space from the stresses and pressures of their daily lives. Give space to your hobbies and make time for them every day, they will help you develop as a person, grow your skills, and think about things clearly.
Share your hobby suggestions with me in the comments below, I’d love to hear what you make time for…
