I know it sounds crazy, but when you’re trying to manage your weight, eating more might be better. We don’t advocate doing anything for weight loss alone, but we know that career girls like to be their healthiest, and sometimes we like to diet or do crazy things in the name of our summer body.
STOP! We’re about to tell you how to ace weight management the healthy way! Yep, if you eat little and often (and exercise!) you will probably have better results!
1.
Start your day with an amazing breakfast
Starving your body isn’t the best way to lose weight, and if you want to boost your metabolism you should aim to do a HIIT workout, like the one we created, at least 4 days a week. A big smoothie bowl to start off the day is perfect, followed by a snack 2/3 hours later.
2.
Snack right
Take note of these simple food swaps you can do for better skin because making the right food choices and snacking often is so good for you. Don’t allow yourself to get to a point of ravenous hunger, this will stop your body from entering ‘starvation’ mode and storing the food sources you receive (leading to higher body fat and lethargy!). To avoid that, snack on things like carrot sticks, hummus, nuts and vegetables. If you have a sweet tooth look for healthy brownies or peanut butter energy balls, and snack every couple of hours throughout the day.
3.
Figure out what hunger feels like to you
Often we mistake hunger for dehydration or boredom, so if you’re feeling unusually hungry grab some water and hydrate! You should be able to know the difference between feeling hungry and feeling bored or thirsty, and it’s important to know what your body is telling you.
4.
Healthy doesn’t have to be boring!
Try to cut down carbs and allow your dinner to be the smallest meal of the day, but remember that you don’t have to eat the equivalent of a plate of leaves to maintain a healthy body weight, you can be creative and inventive. Try our spicy healthy carrot soup for those cold winter days when you can’t be bothered to cook.
Eggplant (Aubergine) Pizza (perfect for all you pizza loving ladies!)
2 large eggplants sliced in half or 1 inch thick (for bruschetta style pizzas)
1 jar organic tomato sauce (or homemade tomato sauce using fresh tomatoes, bbq sauce or similar sauce, herbs, salt and pepper)
1 Ball of Mozzarella cheese
3 – 4 oz fresh cherry tomatoes, sliced
Optional toppings: mushrooms, spinach, peppers etc.
Preheat your oven to 425 F (around 220 C) sprinkle some salt on the eggplants and bake them for 15 – 20 minutes. When cooked, add the tomato sauce, mozzarella and toppings and bake for 3 – 5 minutes. Serve with your favorite leafy greens and enjoy!
