Having pimples can really be a pain. And they always come at the worst time! You can expect one when you have an important meeting coming up or a dinner date (hello Valentine’s day!). Sometimes stress, clogged pores and hormonal imbalances (hello, Aunt Flo!) can be the cause of breakouts on our skin. If you’re facing a bad case of pimples, here’s how you can get rid of them without making them worse.
Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil contains antibacterial and antifungal properties, it’s basically an all-natural way to get rid of any spots before they arrive. All you need to do is apply some tea tree oil on the affected area with a cotton bud (tip: avoid using your hands unless they’re clean!). Sunday Riley U.F.O is your savior if you’ve got problem skin, it contains salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and black cumin. Check it out here.
Honey
Besides being a great addition to pancakes and waffles, honey is a natural antibiotic which is excellent for healing pimples. It is even said that the stickiness of the honey helps to remove excess dirt from your skin. Mix two tablespoons of honey with a teaspoon of cinnamon and apply it to your face. If you don’t have any honey in your cupboard why not try my favorite honey face mask by Farmacy. It’s a mixture of honey and echinacea that will hydrate and soften your skin whilst banishing spots! See the reviews here.
Aloe Vera
Fresh aloe vera is a good moisturizer and contains a great source of vitamins that improve your skin by treating scars and removing excess facial oil. The coolness of the aloe vera also reduces inflammation, which is great for your skin! If you can’t get a hold of fresh aloe vera, try a product with aloe inside it. Aesop’s Parsley Seed serum contains aloe leaf to soften and hydrate your skin while fighting imperfections. Buy it here.
An overnight spot treatment
Sometimes hope is not enough! Philosophy gets that, which is why they created an overnight treatment to use on your pimples. You can wake up with fresher, hydrated, clearer skin and don’t have to worry about that zit that’s creeping up. I love this understated little bottle, it’s a miracle worker! Buy it here.
You can even try out Kendall Jenner’s super easy acne mask if you’re in the mood for a relaxing mask at the end of the day!
