How To Get The Most Out Of Your Moisturizer

Spring feels like it’s upon us, but our skin is still feeling the blast of cold winter air. In the summer, the air is more humid, so there’s more hydration for our skin, but the dry cold air of winter makes our skin dull and dry! Luckily, we’ve got some tips on how to get the most out of your moisturizer, and get your glowing skin back!

Don’t go thicker, go better!

It’s tempting to think that you need to invest in a thicker moisturizer, one that takes ages to sink into your skin, but actually, you should look for moisturizers that are packed with ingredients like almond oil, oil based moisturizers are better for hydrating your skin than water based. Seaweed and algae are also key ingredients that will help rehydrate your skin, Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is packed full of beneficial algae that attract water into your skin.

Get a weekly treatment that adds to your moisturizer

The best weekly treatment is one made of 100% natural ingredients, and where better to craft one up than in the kitchen? Blending your own face mask is totally easy and quick, can use up all your leftover fruits and vegetables and is a great rescue treatment for your skin in between moisturizing.

Try to find a moisturizer that adapts to temperature change

We can’t predict the humidity, unfortunately, why have ten different moisturizers that promise to make your skin better in different weather conditions? The white tea moisturizer from Shiffa Skincare is formulated in Dubai (so great for summer skin) but also adapts to temperature changes, so it’s perfect all year round.

Prep your skin properly

Use suncream (even in winter) and opt to use moisturizer as a base for your makeup. Perricone MD’s Hypoallergenic Nourishing Moisturizer is free from synthetic materials and is the perfect base to your makeup. Your moisturizer will always work better if you take care of your skin and hydrate yourself properly!

Couldn’t agree more when it comes to face mask. They’ve been my saviour recently. I’ve never been prone to breakouts or even dry skin UNTIL winter comes along and then I’m desperately grabbing moisturiser. Great post & gorgeous photos!
