How To Plan Your Day Like Meghan Markle


Meghan Markle is fully ingrained into the annuls of popular culture. There are now masks of her face, the way she holds her baby bump is being analyzed in the media, in fact, she’s referred to as ‘Hurricane Meghan’ because of her get-up-and-go attitude, which is at odds with some of the older Royals. 

The thing to remember is that Meghan’s start as a young ambitious actress, feminist, and lifestyle editor of her own website never prepared her for becoming royalty, it’s just something that happened to her. And no matter what people make of it, she’s going to do the best she can, be her very best self and push herself to achieve everything she can. This is what’s inspiring about Meghan, she will always go for what she wants.

Her average day has changed quite a bit since she’s become a Duchess, but she’ll stick to her non-negotiables and always put herself first. With Harry’s backing, she’ll live her best life, do what she’s always loved and won’t let her new level of fame affect her life. With such a go-getting life, it’s only natural that she gets up early and takes a lot of time to clear her head by working out.

Here’s Meghan’s average day, could you live like Meghan Markle?


5:00 AM


Meghan’s mornings are incredibly important to her. She has a wakeup playlist that she blasts as soon as she wakes up, it helps her to feel positive and productive especially on early mornings. With such a busy schedule ahead of her, no day is the same, and sometimes she needs to wake up early to get ahead of the day. 

Being part of the Royal Family often means you’re pulled and pushed every which way, but Meghan knows how to stay grounded and focuses on the things that she does for herself. Her non-negotiables. One of those is waking up early and working out.


6:00 AM


Meghan is a fan of going for a morning run or jog, she has to take it easier now she’s pregnant but she’ll still be doing low-intensity workouts and yoga. Her mother is a yoga instructor so it’s really important to both of them to get their hearts pumping and get some workouts in.

Meghan will usually do a jog wherever she is, or go for a run, or if she’s struggling to get her workout in, she’ll turn to yoga or visit a studio nearby. There are so many options, you’re never too busy to workout, you just have to amend your routine to allow you to have the time for what you want to do. 7:30 AM



Meghan really believes in balance, everything needs to have balance and while you can enjoy a great big meal and wine, you should also be really conscious of what you’re putting into your body. She usually goes for the healthier option at breakfast. Even if she’s not preparing her own these days, she’ll try to select the healthiest option. 

A healthy breakfast sets the tone for the day, Meghan’s favorite breakfasts include avocado toast, omelet with fresh herbs or gluten-free pancakes, she’s also prone to a smoothie and after working out needs to make sure that her body has everything it needs.


9:00 AM


Meghan’s work has changed dramatically since marrying Prince Harry, she can usually be found at social engagements and doing lots of humanitarian work. “I’ve never wanted to be a lady who lunches, I’ve always wanted to be a woman who works,” she once said. Although she spends a lot of time rubbing shoulders with ladies who lunch now as part of the Royal Family, Meghan hasn’t stepped back from any social engagements and is refusing to be told how to think, what to say, and what to wear.[/caption]

It’s important to regain your sense of individuality in life and not let things take over, Meghan knows its important to be true to herself and do her best work inspiring others and standing up for causes she believes in. During the day she can be found alone or accompanying Prince Harry on a trail of social events and engagements. 


1:00 PM



A balanced lunch is really important, “Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived,” she told Best Health. Meghan can be full by eating healthy and balanced lunches, but she knows that it’s important to indulge once in a while. She enjoys a treat or two, and won’t say no to the things she loves but generally speaking she eats lots of vegetables, fruits, and healthy proteins. 

If she’s eating at the palace, one weird rule means that nobody should continue eating after the Queen, even if they haven’t finished their plates. So, we imagine Meghan’s got very good at pacing her eating habits alongside the Queen’s.

7:00 PM


What’s normal for Harry isn’t really normal for Meghan, so there’s a lot of adjusting to do to this new lifestyle. Meghan still needs her downtime, space to do the things she considers normal and to unwind. After a busy and full day, Meghan and Harry enjoy dressing down and going to West End plays, or watching a film. “We are all so incredibly busy and juggling so many things, but I always take an hour to just decompress, watch mindless TV, snuggle with my dogs, and enjoy a glass of wine. That’s all part of the investment. It’s a balance.” She once told Women’s Health.

No matter who (or how important) you are, you need that downtime, you need to stop being so hard on yourself and thinking about all the things you could have done and instead take a few hours off to just veg out and enjoy life.

9:00 PM


As a former lifestyle blog editor, Meghan loves to write and has been known to keep multiple journals and notebooks about everything from recipes to her dreams. In fact, she bought sister-in-law Kate Middleton a dream journal for her birthday. 

It’s easy to get caught up in all the things you didn’t achieve. Maybe you didn’t work out as often as you would have liked, or maybe you didn’t achieve your goal for the day. None of that matters, it’s important instead to see what you have achieved and reflect on that. Meghan swears by night time journaling, writing down what she’s grateful for and reflecting. You can do this with a plain notebook like the Make It Happen notebook or use something a bit more in-depth like the Getting Stuff Done planner. Simply create a space to write down the things you’re grateful for and the things you’ve achieved and reflect on it.
