How To Reach One Million Views On Your Blog

When we first started, one million views seemed like a huge, unachievable milestone. But it’s not so difficult if you create the right strategy and know what your readers want to see. Creating your tribe of loyal visitors and putting out great content are just two of the things you need to do to increase your page views, here are a few tips and tricks we learned along the way:

Branding
We had to match our Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter to the overall feeling of the website, and a lot of that is to do with fonts, visuals, quotes, and images. The best way to start is by using something like Pinterest or creating a vision board that you can look at every time you struggle to envision your branding story.

If your branding is cohesive people will be more likely to recognize your various social channels! Read our guide on how to create a personal brand so you can master those first few steps.

Stay Inspired
If you aren’t inspired you aren’t putting out your best content. We have regular meetings where we discuss anything that has inspired us, any videos, programs, magazines or books we’ve read and how they can be interpreted in the Career Girl Daily way. Sometimes a whole article can come from talking about something we’re going through, for example, my article on surviving a burnout or our article about thriving in a big city.

Post regularly and post well
You need to keep up your content so that people keep coming back to see what’s new, whether you post three times a week or three times a day (like we do!) you need to stay consistent so your readers will develop a routine based on what you post and when.

In terms of posting well, you need to spend a little time researching your topic and proofreading it well. Grammarly is my savior for checking those sneaky little mistakes.

Get to know your readers
When we can we try to reply to comments on our posts, even criticisms, because we like to get to know our readers and listen to their concerns. Engaging with your audience is a great way to prove that you value their opinions, and will make them feel like commenting more often.

Get SEO smart
SEO is important for your blog. If you want it to be easily discovered you need to put some thought into your keywords, meta descriptions and the alt text of photos, but don’t let it rule your life. You should still write content that is unique and refreshing and get smart about what keywords are popular and would improve your rating. If you need some help check out our list of courses that will help you build a business.

Never underestimate social media
I spoke with a girl the other day who told me 90% of her business was coming in through Instagram, so you’ll need to create a separate schedule for all your social media accounts to ensure that you regularly put yourself out there. If you aren’t using social media to its full potential you could be selling yourself short. Check out our guide on using Snapchat for business, it’s mind-blowing!

Hmmmm… I need to work on investing time on social media. I have been a little angry towards the much work-less result system of the media. I think you gotta become some sort of influencer before the media will work for you, else you get just the teeny – tiny bits of traffic – friends, family and maybe stalkers. Urghhhhh…

Thank you for this article, will see to branding and creating a unique synergy between all my accounts

Thank you for this! I think my main problem is SEO related. Margaux x

These are really helpful tips! I haven’t been too consistent with posting so I know I need to work on that since it’s so important to the overall quality of your blog. Hopefully, one day I could reach such a number of views!

I’m so bad at SEO, like I don’t even know where to start! Currently trying to post three times a week on my France-dedicated blog (http://www.appelezmoiana.com) and it’s so nice when I get sweet comments on the blog/social media or receive emails from readers asking for an advice ^^

  • Ebony

Posting three times a day is a lot for a “career girl” to catch up with. That’s 15 articles to go through in a 5-day work week!

Definitely the motivation I needed today to keep chugging along on my blog – and to start working on my SEO skills! It’s something I put off at first to focus on other aspects, but now that I’ve got my social media channels up and running, it’s time to circle back to that!
