What are you willing to give up in order to become more productive and successful? It is commonly known that all successful people had to give up certain habits in order to fully focus on their career. If you want to be more productive and successful it is important that you are willing to stand out. Unfortunately, most people are likely to choose the ‘easy’ comfortable, socially constructed life because it takes less effort and seems a safer option.

Success is not something that happens by accident or overnight, hard work and dedication are the leading factors in the road to success and if you want it bad enough and visualize it every day, it will happen!
In order to stay focused and not lose your goal out of sight, there are certain things you need to give up. These are the things that successful women gave up in order to reach their own personal success.
#1 – Working in your comfort zone
The socially constructed life and always playing it on the safe side. In order to know what you are capable off, to expand your horizons and fully go for it, you must let go of your comfort zone. Take risks, try new things and have faith in yourself, because in the end everything will work out fine. It is always better to know that something did not work out because you actually tried it, then to forever wonder what would have happened because you did not try it.
#2 – Be around negative people
Just like negative thoughts, negative people will influence you, will hold you back and will make you lose focus. Although it is hard to say, but they are a waste of time and you really do not need negativity in your already busy life.
#3 – Let the past influence their future
Let the past be the past! It happened, you cannot change it, and it is good that you can’t, because without it, you wouldn’t have learned all the lessons or had all the experiences that you have right now.
Never let the past influence your future, you are not your mistakes and it is NEVER too late to learn something new. It doesn’t matter where you are right now, what you have been through, what mistakes you made or what your background is, keep dreaming big, success is for all of us, but we are the ones deciding to go for it or not.
#4 – Being a follower instead of a leader
There are two types of people in the world: leaders and followers. There is nothing wrong with being a follower if you are willing to accept that someone else decides what you are doing, how you do it, and you often help the leaders to build their dream instead of yours.
In order to be successful, you need to be the one that is leading. This obviously does not happen overnight and is often a journey, but the leadership mentality already needs to be in you. You need to know and understand that you do not need anybody to tell you what to do (this is not the same as asking for advice or feedback!), you need to be willing to pave your own way to success and not need anybody else that you can follow to your finish line.
#5 – Lie to themselves
Lying to yourself is often worse than lying to others. It is really easy to do it, but we all know full well that deep down in our hearts, we always know the truth (although we try to deny and ignore it). Accept it if you have some problems, keep your head cool and deal with them. Stop making excuses and always be honest to yourself because only then you will be able to take full control of a situation and deal with it.
#6 – Not asking for feedback and advice
We all have our pride and often are too proud to ask for advice or feedback, LET-IT-GO! Feedback and advice are really important and can save you a lot of time, energy and money.
Feedback and advice allow you to see another person’s perspective. Not doing it is often limiting yourself and sometimes means we need to learn it the hard way while someone, who faced a similar problem before, could have saved us all the trouble.

It is always good to read and reread these kind of advices. I have already given up on most of the above vices but the last one is still something that I have to work on.
