Jenna Marbles is the internet alter ego of Jenna Mourey. Jenna is quirky, hilarious and rude and brings her channel to life with relatable insights that make your sides hurt. She launched her career from scratch, and has gone from strength to strength! Now she’s got an estimated wealth of $4 million, and all from making funny videos! Her first video, ‘How to trick people into thinking you’re good looking” shot her to YouTube fame, and still remains the most watched video on her channel. Here are some inspiring lessons from Jenna Marbles!

#1 “As weird and awful and terrible as it may seem to be yourself sometimes, it will always reward you.”

Sometimes we find ourselves staring at others and just wishing we could be them, even just for a day. How often have you looked at an Instagram post and seethed with envy. Even during the worst times, it’s good to be you, and that’s something you should always remember. You are unique and amazing!

#2 “You can always care [about what others think]. You probably always will care. But don’t let it dictate your choices and what you want and what you want to accomplish and who you want to be. Don’t let anyone get in the way of that. That’s being yourself.”

People probably judged Jenna for her lifestyle choices at one point or another, launching a YouTube career isn’t really seen as a ‘proper job’, but who’s laughing now? Probably them, if they watch her videos! Never let what others think hold you back from doing what you want to do, go for it, because you only live once!

#3 “Don’t ever, ever, ever give up, because you’re here for a reason, even if it’s just to laugh at cats on the internet.”

Truth bomb! You don’t need to achieve something supremely amazing to be able to appreciate that you have a purpose. You don’t need to end world hunger or create a multinational company to enjoy the little successes you have in life. Do what you want!

#4 “In order to find out who you are, you will, at some point, have to feel really isolated, left out, different.”

At some point in time we all feel different and left out, it’s normal. The best way to appreciate who you are is to tackle those instances with grace and humour. Know that your difference is what makes you awesome, and try to reach out to like minded people to stop feeling left out. It’s hard but we all go through it.

#5 “You gotta stop forcing relationships. If someone doesn’t want to be with you, just be like, ‘Cool, see ya never, bye!'”

We waste a lot of time on unreciprocated relationships, it’s better for everyone (no matter how hard it might seem) if you stop putting out the effort when it goes unreturned. These friendships and relationships aren’t real and will probably make you feel even more left out!

She is so straight forward and I love that! I think she has a lot figured out and she can be an inspiration for everyone that is still getting there. 1 and 4 are my favorite ones – being yourself, as hard as it may be, isalways the best option you have.
