Salma Hayek Pinault is more than just an on-screen star, as well as being a director and producer, she’s won a variety of awards from Glamour’s Woman of The Year Award to Knight (Chevalier) of the National Order of the Legion of Honour in 2011.
She recently co-founded Chime For Change with Beyonce Knowles-Carter and works hard to raise awareness about violence against women. Here are some inspiring quotes from Salma.

It’s often hard to tell the difference between a dream you want for yourself or a dream you’ve been pressured into accepting. You have to find your own path and follow it.

I have the potential to really, truly have a voice that makes a difference.” Salma is an inspiration in that she knows what people say about her and that for a while her worth as an actress was defined by her looks, but she knows there is more to her than the way she looks and isn’t afraid to say it.
“Isn’t it sad? In our world, women also don’t support other women enough — how often do we really work together to make a difference? We are sometimes so vicious toward one another. We want to be independent women, but we really don’t know who we are as women. It’s about us taking control, because we tend to just blame. We complain about the world, but we are still not loving toward other women.” It’s so true that women are often quick to judge or blame other women in the pursuit of success, but at CGD HQ we believe in empowering all women and celebrating their successes, even if you don’t agree with them. Another truth bomb from Salma, if your dreams are focused on wealth and beauty, you’ll be sadly disappointed because neither last forever. Your wealth won’t grant you happiness, and your beauty will fade with time. Focus on the things that you really value and take a leaf out of Salma’s book, be confident in your abilities!
