Ronda Rousey is a
Canadian born
martial artist and a successful actress, she was the first US woman to win a medal at the Summer Beijing Olympics and was recently named as one of the top 50 most dominant athletes alive. As well as being a true inspiration in the ring, Mixed Martial Arts fighter Ronda Rousey is a true inspiration because of what she stands for. Ronda is a feminist, a fighter and a firecracker, she stands up for herself, for women and for equality. Here are seven of the most inspirational quotes said by the woman herself.
“I’m a courageous person because I’m a scared person.”
Ronda believes that its okay to admit you are scared sometimes, nobody is confident all of the time and sometimes life can be scary but it’s how you deal with it that counts.
“People are so scared of criticism… I’m not scared of people disliking me.”
Ronda believes that being yourself is ultimately the most important thing, if someone doesn’t like you for who you are then that’s their problem, don’t let it change you as a person.
“Some people like to call me cocky or arrogant, but I just think, “How dare you assume I should think less of myself?”
Ronda believes it’s perfectly fine to be confident at times, be sure of yourself and don’t let other people make you doubt yourself.
“People made fun of my arms and called me “Miss Man.” It wasn’t until I got older that I realized: These people are idiots. I’m fabulous.”
Ronda ensures us that as you get older you learn to accept yourself and who you are, people may doubt you and make you feel insecure but the sooner you realise those people don’t matter the better you will feel.
“Life is a fight from the minute you take your first breath to the moment you exhale your last.”
Ronda believes life can always be challenging, nothing is ever easy and sometimes things can go wrong, but that is what life is all about, it makes you strong and it makes you who you are.
“But to truly succeed – whether it is at a sport or at your job or in life – you have to be willing to do the hard work, overcome the challenges, and make the sacrifices it takes to be the best at what you do.”
A little hard work and determination can get you far, nothing worth having comes easy but that’s what makes it all the more rewarding when you do succeed.
“If you can’t dream big, ridiculous dreams, what’s the point in dreaming at all?”
It’s okay to dream of the impossible, if you want something bad enough then there is nothing stopping you from achieving it.
