The Karaoke Video That Gave Us One More Reason To Love The First Lady

If you haven’t already heard, First Lady Michelle Obama is the next celeb to join in with the feel-good factor Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show with the hilarious Brit, James Corden.

Driving around the grounds of the White House she enjoys warbling along to her favorite, Stevie Wonder. “Ooo baby, here I am, signed, sealed, delivered I’m yours!” Followed by the epitome of girl power, Beyoncé’s Single Ladies (including all the hand actions!)

She tells James she’ll miss seeing the people at the White House most, and not so much the 24-hour room service, being the down-to-earth and just lovely lady she is. Michelle explains the room service was nice, but it will be good to get back to normal and have her own independence (go girl!), plus she can make her own grilled cheese sandwich anyway (a mean one too!)

James moves on to asking about her Snapchat. If you didn’t already know, Michelle joined Snapchat last month. Why? She doing an Important trip to Liberia, Morocco, and Spain to highlight her Let Girls Learn campaign which she launched March last year.

She aims to get girls around the world educated, including in areas of conflict and crisis.

Did you know that 26 million girls worldwide aren’t in school? She added, “So much can be corrected in the world if girls were educated and had power over their lives.”

Her message is for kids to not take education for granted. Because there are “girls around the world who would die to get the education that we have, they would do anything, they would move mountains to make it happen.”

She feels that using Snapchat is a great platform to “hook them in”, make them follow her on her journey and to become more aware. “This is for my girls, stand up and be heard!”

Other reasons to love Michelle Obama:

Her first impression of Barack wasn’t great; after seeing a photo of him in the law firm directory she decided he had a big nose – plus she declined Barack’s first invitation to go out on a date!

She’s super fit! 

She cut back from her six-figure salary with the University of Chicago hospital system to help her husband with his campaign!

Michelle makes Barack do the dishes.

She has brains and not just beauty, graduating from high school second in her year and also has a master’s degree. (Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, and Michelle Obama are the only First Ladies to receive master’s degrees.)

Michelle is a kind-hearted, smart, independent, down-to-earth woman who is a huge role model and certainly will be missed in the White House.
