Let’s get healthy: 5 Mean Green Juice Recipes

Green juice is lighter than a smoothie and contains different ingredients. It can be very easy and refreshing to drink your fruits and vegetables. If you’re new to juicing, you may find that green juice tastes a bit different because your taste buds may not be used to this whole thing. To get used to juicing we’re sharing 5 easy recipes to make your own mean green juices!

Benefits Juicing

1. Top Nutrition:

Fruits and vegetables contain nutrients that are good for your overall health. When I drink green juice, I instantly feel better, my  skin glows and my eyes have a new spark. Eating healthy is better than any other expensive skin care line.

2. Quick Absorption:

With juicing you’re taking in the essential nutrients that your body needs and your body immediately absorbs all these nutrients because juice is in liquid form. You give your digestive system a rest because it doesn’t have to break down any solid foods, and the nutrients go directly into your cells and bloodstream, making it much easier on your body. As a result, you feel lighter yet active throughout the day.

3. A Variety of Tastes:

You choose from a large variety of vegetables  such as kale, broccoli, spinach and parsley that you’d otherwise hardly consume on an average diet.

4. A Healthy Alkaline State:

Your pH level is an exact measure of how alkaline or acidic is your body. The pH balance of human blood has to stay within a certain range. In order to avoid the harmful effects of the acidic nature of many foods you consume, your body has to work hard to minimize the acidic effects and bring it in the neutral range. Green juicing helps keep your body in that alkaline state. (source: Prolificjuicing)

Green juices are very easy to make, and  it actually doesn’t taste that bad when you use apples, lemon, pineapple or mint.  Your body will  benefit from it. If you don’t like the taste you can always add in more ingredients as you get used to the idea of green juice.

I love a green juice as a post breakfast snack – makes it really easy to get a headstart on your 5 a day. I heard you are meant to drink your veg, eat your fruits, (as fruit juices and smoothies are so sugary) so I try to do that, but you always need a bit of juice to sweeten. I just chuck spinach, kale, cucumber (in fairly equal measures volume wise) and fresh ginger into a blender with half a cup of my favourite apple juice (apple and rhubarb) and ta-da! I’ve eaten half a bag of spinach without even realising!
